Overview

See a different side of Barcelona, on this 4-hour bike ride off the beaten path.

Ride in small groups of just 8 people max. (plus guide), and feel a closer connection to the city.

Discover obscure but beautiful attractions such as the Hospital de Sant Pau, and the amazing neoclassical cemetery of Poblenou.

This activity is not about seeing the major sights and hearing facts you could read in a guidebook, it's all about heading out on your bike to parts of the city that many locals don't even know about, in the company of a knowledgeable and passionate guide!

No two tours are the same, but some of the cool experiences that await you include visiting a flea market, learning about Barcelona's art nouveau and modern architecture, admiring street art, stopping for pastries and tapas in a local bar, and riding along Barceloneta beach.

Our small group ethos means that, unlike standard bike tours of the city, you’ll not only be learning about Barcelona, you’ll be living it too!

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar, Placa Santa Maria 1, 08003 Barcelona Spain

On most tours we pass by this sensational Gothic masterpiece and admire the rose-window façade, before exploring the rest of El Born.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: El Born, La Ribera, Ciutat Vella, 08003 Barcelona Spain

We love to show travellers the hidden back streets of the Born district, full of secrets, boutiques, artisan shops and cosy cafes.... the central 'square' used to be a medieval jousting ground!

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Parc de la Ciutadella, Passeig de Picasso, 21, 08003 Barcelona Spain

This gorgeous park is named after the citadel that once sat here. We explore its many points of interest, including a fountain partially-designed by Gaudi, and get some oxygen in our lungs.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Torre Agbar, Pl. de les Glories, 08018 Barcelona Spain

This phallic-shaped wonder is one of the most iconic buildings in Barcelona. We marvel at its multi-hued exterior and discuss the modernisation of the city.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Los Encantes Barcelona, Carrer de los Castillejos, 158 Avinguda Meridiana,73, 08013 Barcelona Spain

We often stop off at this charming old flea market and shop for kitsch souvenirs, or stop for a snack. The entire area has been revitalised in recent years.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: El Poblenou, Barcelona Spain

This former industrial district is full of treasures, such as modern parks, neoclassical cemeteries, street art, superblocks, and dazzling new architectural projects. Its quieter than the centre and ideal for cycling around.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Port Olimpic, Port Olimpic, Barcelona, Catalonia

Built for the 1992 Olympic Games this shining white marina transformed Barcelona's coast and is full of bars, clubs and modern sculptures... like Frank Gehry's golden fish.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Playa de La Barceloneta, Paseo Maritimo Barceloneta, 14, 08003 Barcelona Spain

No cycle ride in Barcelona is complete without a ride along the beach. We normally reserve this route for the way home, enjoying the sun on our faces and the carnival atmosphere of this crazy playa.

Claudia is a great tour guide, she found a bakery that I never would have (Im a baker) and I learned a great overview of the city which helped tremendously in the days that followed.

Amazingly, I was the only guest when I arrived, and had a private bike tour with Bella. She was a great guide and adjusted the itinerary to suit my interests. Was a great way to get to know Barcelona, a very bike friendly city. The bike was comfortable with an upright sitting position, and quite new with everything working well. Being the two of us meant we could be quite agile getting around the city. Bella left me with some great tips for food and coffee to follow up afterwards.

Our tour guide, Alejandra, was amazing! There was a total of 5 people, my friend and I and our two teenagers, plus another woman. Barcelona is an incredibly bike-friendly city, and we went all over. Alejandra gave us a local perspective and also provided a lot of history and pointed out things that we would have missed on our own. She apologized for her English, but we understood everything she said. We asked our kids to rate everything we did over the week we were in Barcelona, and the bike tour was #1 on both of their lists - mine too.

Great bike tour, you see a broad view of many sights around Barcelona. The group is small and the guide has so much information to share. A great experience.
