The Drum Tower, initially called the Tower of Orderly Administration (Qizhenglou), was constructed in 1272 during Kublai Khan's reign when it was positioned at the center of the Yuan capital, Dadu. During the Ming dynasty's Yongle Emperor's rule in 1420, the structure was rebuilt to the east of its original location, and the Qing dynasty's Jiaqing Emperor led extensive renovations in 1800.

For almost 500 years, the Forbidden City was not only the residence of the emperors and their families but also the political and ceremonial center of the Chinese government.

Jingshan Park is a picturesque 23-hectare (57-acre) imperial park located immediately north of the Forbidden City in the Imperial City area of Beijing, China. The park's central feature is an artificial hill called Jingshan, which offers panoramic views of the city. Originally, the park was a private imperial garden connected to the grounds of the Forbidden City, but it was opened to the public in 1928 and officially established as a park in 1949. Jingshan Park is considered a Key State Park and is managed by both Xicheng and Dongcheng districts in the heart of downtown Beijing.

Covering 147 hectares, Shichahai was once the bustling commercial hub of Beijing, but today it is a popular tourist destination. The area features tall trees lining the lake borders and offers boating in the summer and ice-skating in the winter. It is located near the north gate of Beihai Park and is a must-see scenic spot in Beijing.

Wangfujing is a famous shopping street situated in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, China. The majority of the area is pedestrianised. Commercial activities have been taking place in the area since the middle of the Ming Dynasty. During the Qing Dynasty, ten aristocratic estates and a princess residence were constructed here. The street was named Wang Fu Jing after a well full of sweet water was discovered in the area.
Wangfujing is also known for its snack street, which offers a wide variety of exotic foods to visitors.
