At first you need to print the card - who uses print these days. Furthermore they write that you have to be careful when walking with the print because the QR code can get unreadable - what :-( ???? Furthermore I only received one of two cards by e-mail - when they wanted to correct the mistake I got three hours less then my wife because they gave me a 48 hours card and not a 72 hours card. They state in the website that you will mostly get a 25% discount - that is nearly only for adults and not kids. Not that many sites are included - the Berlin Zoo is not included and that must be one of the most popular ones.

Really worth your money. Some advice: The activation starts with your first transportation. But many sites do not check the activation. If you are not taking transports on the first day, you can still visit something and get benefit though it is not activated. We took the independent Museum pass and we think it is a better deal than taking the welcome card with museum if you stay more than 3 days. If you stay say 5 days, you can choose which 3 days you will visit museums, while the welcome card with museum forces you to visit museum the first 3 days.

DO NOT BUY IN ADVANCE Bought two Berlin WelcomeCard tickets in advance (just to be safe) to use in mid-January, but sadly my friend and I didn’t notice that the cards expire at the end of the year (we bought them at the end of December). We asked if we could exchange or extend the tickets for ones we can use in January since our trip is only 3 weeks away, but when calling to customer service the phone never gets picked up. The email response we got was also very short, rigid, business-like and in my opinion lacked some empathy. No refunds or exchanges possible, not under any circumstances. Selling the tickets also proved impossible because we only had a week to sell them. Lost 85 euros for tickets that can’t be used. Then lost 85 euros again because we had to buy them again a week later :) Guess it’s our own fault for not paying enough attention to the terms and conditions. All in all a bad experience. If you don’t have lots of money to spare this is not a situation you want to be in so beware. Sadly we didn’t see @Grecophile99 his review earlier.

WARNING: welcome cards expire on 31/12 of the year you buy them. We paid €105 for 2 tickets and they will NOT extend or refund these even though the flights were cancelled, as they are travel tickets and exempt from statutory refunds. Whatever you do -DO NOT buy these tickets in advance as you'll lose ALL of your money if for any reason (in your control or not, covid related or not) if you can't then go. It really wouldn't have cost Berlin welcome card a cent to extend them for a few months so we could re-arrange our travel, but No, it was a straight NO REFUND, NO TRANSFER but thanks for the cash. That sucks.
