Founded in 1948, Canterbury Tourist Guides Ltd is an independent company devoted to conducting guided walking tours of the highest quality in Canterbury. Our tours are the official tours of the city, and the only tours to include access to the magnificent Cathedral's Precincts.

All our guides hold city Green Badges, having completed the accredited training course and passed the relevant examinations set by the Institute of Tourist Guiding.

Our professional Green Badge Guides will bring history to life as they take you on a 90-minute journey through the medieval lanes, the Cathedral Precincts and grounds of the historic King's School, regaling you with tales of murder and ghosts plus of course the many famous historical characters, writers and artists who have lived here or visited in the past.

* See the largest medieval gateway in England, explore the precincts of Canterbury Cathedral, and its fascinating story.

Really enjoyed our walking tour. Guide was fun and very pleasant with incredible knowledge of the history of the city. Pointed out lots of details and oddities we’d never have known about. Highly recommend.

It was a really amazing tour of Canterbury, the guide (David) catered to my personal interests and I got to learn a lot about the history as well as the literature surrounding the place. He was very knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend the tour to everyone.
