Day 1: Botlierskop - Oudtshoorn
Stop At: Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, Gonnakraal Road, Little Brak River, 6503, South Africa
Your journey today will begin as you leave the silhouette of Table Mountain behind after your included pickup (between about 6am to 7am, subject to your pickup address or morning traffic - your exact pickup will be shared a day before the tour ) to trade it for the scenery of the Klein Karoo to visit a Garden Route region game reserve. The first wildlife reserve is about 450 km away from Cape Town ( about 6 hours - subject to traffic and additional rest stops in between. At your first wildlife encounter of the day, spot some of Africa’s Big 5 wild animals from the back of an open 4x4 vehicle at Botlierskop, a malaria-free private game reserve near Mossel Bay. Search for giraffe, white rhino, kudu, lion, elephant, zebra, wildebeest, to name a few. During the safari (if weather and safety allows) you can also stop for a closer encounter with nature as your game ranger show & tell you more about animals, insects & plants of the region.

The scenery during the next 50 miles changes dramatically from green to dusty dull greys as you reach the relatively arid region of the Klein Karoo and the ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn. Then enjoy an evening of free time in Oudtshoorn, where you can relax at your accommodation. You can also book an (optional with additional fees) traditional bbq "braai" dinner experience to sample a variety of game or ostrich dishes or explore the small town’s dining options on your own. Day 2: Buffelsdrift - Route 62 - Cape Town
Stop At: Buffelsdrift Game Lodge - Activities, Cango Caves Road, Oudtshoorn 6620 South Africa
After breakfast, jump straight into the thick of the Klein Karoo bush this morning as you set out on an open-topped 4x4 bush drive to seek out some more of Africa’s animals, including Cape buffaloes and African elephants at Buffelsdrift Private Game Reserve. Your expert guide and ranger will help spot wildlife, you may see zebras, wildebeests, giraffes - just to name a few. This "bush drive safari" focuses more getting close to nature; insects and plants as the reserve is not home to many big game species.

Those seeking a meaningful nature experience can join rangers on an Elephant Observation experience (optional at extra fees)with a nature walk to have the opportunity to see these three rescued elephants in their natural environment. You'll learn about these gentle giants as you see them roam freely in their bushvelt habitat, under the watchful eye of the elephant guides.

End off a seemingly perfect day with a drive along Route 62, the longest wine route in the world! Capture the beauty of high mountains, twisting passes, rugged Karoo plains during this approximately 450 km journey - that's about 5 to 6 hours subject to weather and traffic, lunch and other rest stops before arriving in Cape Town by evening (between 7pm to ± 9pm).
