Itinerary
At the start, you will be met by our land host. The land host will hand you over to the guide and the guide will introduce him/herself to you. Your guide will run through a briefing which includes trip duration, sights that will be seen on the trip (East Fort, West Fort, Chapmans Peak and the manganese mining jetty). Included in the briefing is knowing your gear and equipment you will be using which will be the rudderless kayak (double seated kayak), the paddle and your PFD (Portable Floatation Device). Your guide will explain and ensure to make the trip easy and comfortable for you. Then your guide will explain paddling strokes and how to maneuver your kayak on the water just before embarking on the adventurous journey. What is possible wildlife that we might encounter on our trip? The Cape fur seals, dolphins, sunfish and if we are really fortunate, we might even see some whales. The guide will take you on a route that allows you to paddle the bay of Houtbay in +-2 hours. You will start in the harbor, then paddle out in the bay and then end your trip where you started.
