Picked up by Stephan Albert and taken safely to the Cape and back to Cape Town. I received lots of information about the region and the people. As I was traveling alone, Stephan helped with the selfies. Highly recommended. I was aware that it was not whale season. So Hermanus is a nice stop-over.

Amazing tour! David was very knowledgeable about the area and history of the attractions. Put us on a nice schedule to be able to see a lot of places while giving us knowledge through and throughout. Amazing experience. Would do it again.

I'm a geography buff who only had a limited amount of time in Cape Town but really wanted to visit Cape Agulhas. Tom, my contact at Up and Down Travel, assured me that it would be possible to go and get back before my cruise ship sailed later that night. My driver/guide, Albert picked me up at the Cruise Terminal, and we discussed how he could customize the trip to meet my needs. He was such an amazing guide -- knowledgeable, friendly and upbeat all day long. We drove through picture-perfect agricultural landscapes along the Garden Route and stopped for a cliff-side walk in Hermanus, a beautiful seaside town. The highlight, however, was Cape Agulhas. Such a gorgeous place! I spent about half an hour walking along the rocks and paths beside the azure, turquoise and mint-green waters where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Then, I climbed to the top of the lighthouse for even better views. When I mentioned to Albert that I hadn't had a chance to go to Table Mountain and probably wouldnt, he offered to take me there on the way back to the Cruise Terminal. With his help, I was able to spend about half an hour on the top enjoying spectacular views of Cape Town. Quite frankly, I will never forget this incredible day or Albert's kindness and desire to customize the tour to meet my needs. I HIGHLY recommend this company, and especially Albert!

Having arrived in Cape Town during the slow season I was fortunate to be able to book this tour despite being the only guest who signed up that day. This meant I received a private tour for the regular price. Albert my tour guide was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and tailored the days route to my wishes and interests. I sat up front with Albert and we spent the drive talking about this and that. The interesting conversations made the several hours on the road pass by quickly. He shared cool tidbits about the places we went through, was happy to go at a leisurely pace and yet still got me back to Cape Town before dinner so I could explore Long Street on my last evening in South Africa. While I was eager to stand on the southern most tip of Africa, the places we passed along the way were also well deserving of a visit. Hermanus is a quaint sea side town with a lovely waterfront district where lunch, coffee, or some shopping is a great option. The Penguins at Betty’s Bay were the biggest surprise. Expecting to view them off in the distance, many of them simply strolled around the footpaths and even in the parking lot, making for a rather up close encounter. I can highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to get out of Cape Town for a day and see the surrounding countryside. With Albert leading the way you’re sure to have a wonderful time.
