What a great experience cycling through Cape Town. I found the tour guide, Peter, to be very knowledgeable, giving an impartial perspective to the history of Cape Town. It was quite safe, but would recommend for Sundays as the town is quieter, and less cars and crazy mafia taxis on the road

Booked this city cycling tour early on in my Cape Town stay as recommended by previous reviewers. It was a good way to overcome jet lag while getting a general overview of Cape Town. I think it's important to gain an understanding/familiarity of the background and history of places I visit and this tour helped fulfill that. As a member of the Sloth Cycling Club, I was kind of worried I wouldn't be able to keep up with our total group of 6 people, but our guide Peter was easy going and friendly who made the tour enjoyable with regular stops to talk about the city sights and history. We rode hybrid bikes with upright seating, straight handle bars, and comfort seating that I'm use to. Much of the ride is on flat to very small inclines with one exception. There's one steeper hill near the Bo-Kaap neighborhood, but it's short and if you know how to downshift to your granny gear, it's doable. And if not, it's a short walk up the tiny hill. At the top and around the corner is a hidden eatery, where we were rewarded with a variety snack pack of samosas. This was the best part. Another worry for me was city traffic. Well, the route we took was a mix of street and offstreet riding which turned out to be very doable and I never felt unsafe riding. Final leg of the tour went through the park around the Stadium in Green Point which allowed me to fully enjoy biking with no cars. All in all, I agree with previous reviews that this is a great introduction to Cape Town and highly recommended if you prefer being active while getting a closer look of Cape Town rather than just doing drive bye's in a car or bus.

We really enjoyed our cycle tour. Mike was brilliant. He didn’t rush us and he gave us lots of historical information and knowledge about the modern Cape Town & South Africa. Definitely recommended

I had gone back and forth between doing the open red bus tour or the cycling tour and I’m SO glad I chose the cycling tour. #1 - it’s supporting local business and #2 it’s ran by people who are passionate about all this amazing city has to offer! My guide, Peter, was so knowledgeable about the city’s history and adapted the tour to my interests so it was a very personalized experience. It was the perfect tour to get a holistic view of the city, the layout, and the various neighborhoods all in a fun and active way! My favorite part was our stop for samosas - the best samosas of my life! Absolutely recommend this tour if you’re looking to introduce yourself to the city in a fun way!

We had a great tour with Peter. He was a knowledgeable and amiable tour guide and we enjoyed our experience. We loved the town hall, Company Garden, Bo Kaap houses. Peter gave us an excellent history of the city, its people, politics and culture. Recommended.
