Overview

The Hop-on-Hop-off Franschhoek Wine Tram is one of the most unique ways to experience the Cape Winelands and we have made it easier with our return shared transfers from Cape Town including Wine Tram ticket and hotel pick up and drop off. Avoid large groups and benefit from a small group of no more than 10 people from Cape Town to Franschhoek. Choose between 8 different Wine Estate Routes and take advantage of securing your Franschhoek Wine Tram ticket which is included in this tour cost. You pay only for your wine tasting fees at the various wine estates your choose to visit and skip the ones you don't.

What sets us apart from the rest? Convenience: Our guide is at your service for the duration of the tour and should you miss the tram at any of the wine estates, you need not wait an hour for the next tram, as our guide will collect you and drop you at the next wine estate.

Great experience! Wilson was an excellent guide - kind, punctual and with plenty of knowledge. The wine tasting was so much fun, and the lunch we had was fantastic.

Although we expected just to be dropped off at the wine tram and be picked up hours later, we were very pleased to discover that our guide Ruben was staying with us the entire time. Ruben met our needs and then some. It was a rainy day and rather than have us on and off the tram or buses after two wineries off the tram he drove us to 3 others and made reservations for lunch at a wonderful French restaurant called the French Connection. However the most impressive thing was Ruben's knowledge of the Cape Town Area and South Africa as well as his ability to impart his knowledge to us. His personality was warm, welcoming, friendly, and he has a great sense of humor. Yes the wineries are enjoyable and several tailor made the offerings for our taste.

Visiting Franschhoek region was an amazing experience. Our driver Wilson was very knowledgeable about the history of the wine regions. Riding the tram and tasting the wine at various stops was incredible. I would recommend stopping at Franschhoek cellar to experience their chocolate and wine pairings. The views from Dieu Donne were stunning and lived up to its reputation as 'Worlds Greatest Places' in recent Time magazine. The only disappointing experience was that the restaurant in Haute Cabriere was closed for the day at 3 PM and we had to go hungry without lunch.
