Overview

Ocean Wonder is an owner run service that offers boat based Ocean Wildlife Encounters. These intimate trips don't follow any set route. Instead, I'm guided by my understanding and ongoing observation of this environment, the creatures in it, and the ever changing water and weather conditions.

These trips are all about finding and, where possible and legal, interacting with some of the amazing creatures that frequent the rich waters around Cape Town.

Besides the amazing animals that we encounter, it’s a really fun boat ride in an incredibly beautiful environment. The views of Table Mountain and Robben Island are amazing too.

We enjoyed our trip very much! The water, nature and the animals are breathtakingly beautiful and the guide Paul did an amazing job. We would recommend to book a trip to everyone!

The sea is a vast place and wildlife is unpredictable... this is all true... yet somehow, on this trip we managed to see cape fur seals, African penguins, sperm whales, a humpback whale, a sunfish (never seen one of those before, will never forget it) and best of all, a pod of around 200 dolphins swimming and showing off around our boat! Paul and his lovely wife were not only great at spotting animals, they were also able to tell us lots about them, so we came away feeling amazed and informed. We'll now be keeping a close eye, back in England, on the state of the poor African penguins and hoping something is done quickly to stop them from going extinct.

Amazing trip and Paul was very knowledgeable. He was great with our boys too. Absolutely loved the trip… one of our highlights in Cape Town!

Paul gave us such a fantastic experience. Excellent communication before the trip. There is parking where the boat goes from. Safe and clean boat with space for around 8 or 9 people I would imagine (we had 5 on our trip), which made it a far more personal experience. Paul was friendly and great with our 4 year old. It was so lovely to go on a trip where the guide is so relaxed and knowledgable and where they are clearly there to give a fantastic experience like we had rather than rush. That said, conditions were calm enough to allow us to go fast and have a little fun coming back into the jetty! We saw penguins, southern right whales, dolphins and cape seals. We highly recommend this trip for single, couples or families. Tip for after - Giovannis Deli up the road was great for food and walkable.

It was an unforgettable experience. Our guide, Paul, was very informative and relaxed. We saw Wales, although not expected, Dolphins, Seals, and Penguins, and a perfect view of Table Mountain. The speedy ride parts were also a lot of fun, especially for the kids (8+10).
