Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Robben Island Museum, Cape Town Central 7400 South Africa

You will be picked up from the address you provided(within our pickup radius). Boarding the ferry closes 10 min before the time slot you chose. The ferries depart from the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island in the V&A Waterfront.
You will disembark on the island and take a short walk to buses that will transport you and a group of people to all the historical sites around the Island. On the way to the buses, you will pass buildings and a high wall built by prisoners during the 1960s.

If you go on this tour through Tripadvisor it costs $96. For this price you get picked up from your hotel, and, if you want, dropped back off again; however, who wants to be taken back to their hotel when you can spend the rest of the day walking around the wharf which is one of the biggest attractions in Cape Town? Instead, I suggest buying your own ticket for the tour and taking an Uber to the wharf. An Uber would cost about five dollars and the ticket to Robben Island (tour included) will cost about $45. I am normally really satisfied with Tripadvisor recommendations, but this one was a bit of a rip off. That being said, the gentleman who picked me up was extremely nice.

Robben Island is a very impressive place and should be visited by anyone staying in Cape Town. Our La Vacanza Travel driver picked us up on time, got us through the lines, and met us afterward to return to our hotel. Just what we wanted!!

Our experience was cancelled due to weather. I would wait until in Cape Town to plan to avoid disappointment that can’t be predicted. Waiting on refund for seven people. Cynthia Derrico/Delta Vaca

I would have rated this excursion five stars if we were given enough time to explore a little bit more of the exhibits. It was quite a long talk on the bus but it was very interesting to hear about what an inmate's life was like in the prison. The excursion appeals to people who want to gain an insight into prison life and the history surrounding apartheid in South Africa. Because the original morning booking was cancelled due to bad weather I was placed on an afternoon trip which meant limited time to look at exhibits.
