Overview

We operate a half day tour 45 minutes from Cape Town to see a variety of shark species throughout the year according to the seasons, weather, water temperature and other factors.

We operate half day shark tours to either Seal Island area False Bay, or Cape Point as both offer very different opportunities and visibility. Possible shark species can include bronze whalers (copper sharks), Seven gill sharks, Mako Sharks, and Blue sharks. The location for the day will be determined by the best shark activity and sea conditions and will be confirmed with you the day before your trip. The trip is confirmed weather dependent and is not shark species dependent.

Stop At: Apex Shark Expeditions, Quayside Buidling Shop no 3 & 5, Main Road, Simon's Town 7975 South Africa

The crew welcomes you to Simon’s Town a mere 45 minutes from Cape Town.Guests will receive a full safety and sighting briefing aboard White Pointer II before departure.

Depart for historical Seal Island which is a 25 to 35 minute boat ride based on sea and weather conditions. Should amazing Cape Point be the location for the trip, the boat ride is +- 50 minutes.

The total duration at sea is 3- 4 hours depending on the weather conditions and shark activity.
Tea and coffee are available at our shark centre in Simon’s Town. Browse our unique range of shark-related merchandise and check out our wall of fame. There may be a familiar face or two.

A great day shark diving for my husbands 50th. The guys were informative, fun and friendly. Saw lots of sharks, seals and thousands of dolphins too. Great to have a refillable Branded water bottle to take home as a momento. Sarnys and crisps and chocs provided. Wet suits came in all required sizes. Thanks too for the birthday cake for hubby! A lovely touch :)

Absolutely an amazing time with these guys. The fellas on the boat were amazing. They took us right out to a spot and had sharks circles us within minutes. I would highly recommend this if you’re coming to Cape Town

I'm an avid diver and love the underwater world, but was not sure cage diving was something I would enjoy. This was a day in three parts, and I'm still not sure the sharks were the best part! I was already aware that the likelihood of seeing a Great White was low due for a number of reasons. Main downside was rougher water than expected and lower viz, so the cage was a bit rough going! But the ocean for you. However, we still did see plenty of bronze whalers during our dive; a real thrill to see them up close along with a few curious seals. Also wonderful to see their beautiful coloration from up on the deck. On the way back to shore we passed an enormous pod of dolphins -- 1,500 or more -- on their way somewhere. And it was really fun to see the seals swell surfing during our pass by Seal Island. The spectacular scenery of the Cape Town coast also deserves a mention; from out on the water, the mountains are truly majestic. Shout out to the Apex crew for their professionalism and sharing their knowledge of the marine environment. Overall, it was just a great day out on and under the water and money well spent.

Wow what an amazing experience. We saw lots of sharks as well as a visit to see the seals. The crew were amazing, very knowledgable, helpful and welcoming. Special shout out for Brandon. Would definitely recommend 🦈

Very well organized team! I loved my tour and experience of cage diving with sharks! Very beautiful creatures! We also saw many seals. No need to be afraid of anything once you follow all given instructions by the team. I highly recommend to try it with Apex shark expeditions. ♥️
