The Burj Al Arab (Arabic: برج العرب, Arab Tower) is a luxury hotel located in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[8] Managed by Jumeirah hotel group, it is one of the tallest hotels in the world, although 39% of its total height is made up of non-occupiable space.[9][10][11] Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island that is 280 m (920 ft) from Jumeirah Beach and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. Public events are always happening around the Marina Walk and particularly the spacious Cobblestone Boulevard. As many visitors would tell you after firsthand experience, walking the crowded area is a real challenge during the weekends, and especially Fridays and Saturdays. Many tourists find that walking the area during the week is a better idea, and they take a cab or a bus in order to avoid traffic and parking woes.
