Hatta area is fully adventure and enjoyable place I have ever seen. We went there by bus and not a lot if place to visit. But we went Hatta dam , kayak and hatta hiking . I can't get enough to stay there. I will come back again later soonnnn
Getting lost in the beautiful mountains of Hatta was part of the experience. The different tracks are designed for all fitness levels and because we decided to take the tough track, a guide was required to guide us. Hatta's nature is really beautiful and it's definitely worth the trip outside Dubai to experience the different kayaking, hiking and wadi hub activities.
I signed up fo this assuming I would cycle. Mountain biking was listed as a major activity. Despite there being a bike shop with ample rentals, I was not permitted to cycle. The Hatta office said I needed to be accompanied by a MD and I needed to be part of a group. My driver seemed powerless to overcome the problem. So I went hiking only, and some kayaking. But for me the attraction was biking and I spent $440 with that expectation. Speaking of the driver, that is just what he was. Essentially I got dropped off at the Hatta Office and needed to fend for myself. So essentially, this "tour" was simply transportation from and back to Dubai. Everything else was arranged (or not arranged with biking) on the spot with much frustration and delay. Prior to the event I asked Sougat to describe what I was going to do and how to prepare. They did not respond. Nor have they responded to my post-event complaint.
We stayed at the nearby Sedr Trailers (also developed by Meeras - the same entity as created the Damani Lodges and the Mountain Center), we spent a good part of the day hiking along streams, small wadis, and up onto steep mountainsides with spectacular views. All the trails are well-marked and relatively easy. Outfitting and food facilities are also provided in this complex.
