Flores Traveler and Irwin are nothing short of amazing. First of all : Communication was of the highest quality when I first engaged with him. I was talking to many operators around that time, but was quickly convinced of going with Irwin as he laid down very clear plans, sent over details PDFs with pricing etc. Once the tour started, Irwin's culture and knowledge of the region and its history were on point. I'm always worried on going on a tour and ending up with a guide that just goes through the stops but doesn't add much value. It definitely wasn't the case here, I learned a lot throughout the experience . Finally, and maybe most importantly: Irwin is not only professional, he's an extremely caring person. My partner fell sick to a point where it was inconceivable for her to go to Waerebo on the second day. Irwin constantly checked on her (came to the hotel with her wife to check on us and see if we should go to the hospital), asked the hotel staff to take special care of her, and designed a last minute plan for myself so that I don't get bored. At the end of the 3 days, not only was I personally satisfied with the experience, I also felt that I gained a friend in Irwin as well. I will wholeheartedly recommend his services.

This was a very enjoyable tour with a fantastic guide (Lee) and driver (I forgot his name). First of all, we did a four hour drive from Labuan Bajo to Dintor, a village near Wae Rebo. The journey was amazing. We went through many hills and towns and went along some beautiful coast with great scenery. We even saw some monkeys. Throughout the journey the driver did a phenomenal job of getting over potholes and bumps in the road, he was one of the calmest drivers I've ever been in a car with. Lee filled the journey with interesting information about local history, and he told me about the practice of money lending in Flores and the prices of different things. Anything I asked, he usually had some information to share about that topic. We hiked up to Wae Rebo on day two and we then had time to spend in the village with the local people. The local people let us go into their huts and they even allowed us to climb up the vertical bamboo ladder in the middle of their house --- scary but a good experience! We bought some delicious local honey from them, which was optional but we wanted to because it tasted so nice. They let one of us help them with their cooking as well (I'm sure they would have let me help as well but I just wanted to watch). Then we stayed overnight and had a nice breakfast there before hiking down. A couple of things to be prepared for when you go on this tour: -It's quite cold at the Wae Rebo village, so bring some warm clothes -You will meet people from other countries who are visiting Wae Rebo and you will be sleeping in the same room as them. -Bring some cash to buy local produce such as sarongs, coffee, honey, and cloth bracelets. I really recommend this because the quality is very good. Thanks very much to Lee and the driver for providing us with a fantastic tour.

We went to Wae Rebo with Flores Traveler and thought it would be a good trip but it was much better than we expected. The village is a beautiful place and the people are lovely. However, our tip was made even better by our freindly tour guides, Avelino, Arin (trainee tour guide) and Antonio (driver). They taught us so much about the local area, farming, Manggarai life, culture, nature and history, and we really enjoyed being with them. During the trip, we often bumped into their friends and family, who all spoke to us and, in some cases, invited us into their traditional homes. We also had a great time playing football with them and the children at Wae Rebo. They delivered a few surprises too, but I won't ruin your trip by telling you what they did! The road to Dintor is something you won't forget whilst the scooter ride to the to bottom of the Wae Rebo track is great fun. I've been to Indonesia a few times and always do a tour - these guys were the best and they gave us a truly memorable experience.

A typical traditional village, located in the Manggarai highlands. Together with 7 unique traditional houses in the form of a cone, neatly arranged, located in the highlands surrounded by mountain forests, Waerebo looks very amazing. Removing the fatigue of the hour-long drive from Labuan Bajo which continued with a walk through the forest for about 3 hours to reach this unique village. As a traditional village that still maintains the traditional Manggarai house form, this village began to be revitalized since 2008. Now tourists can stay at Mbaru Niang, tourist bathrooms are provided, besides that the community is also given the readiness in services for tourists to meet the tourism amenity requirements. In 2012 the village won the Award of Excellence at the Unesco Asia Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation. The people in Waerebo are still living the customs, respecting ancestors and living in harmony with the surrounding forest. Authenticity owned by this traditional village and its people, is the main capital in the development of tourism. Now is an era where tourists are looking for original experiences and appreciate efforts to preserve nature and culture. Thus, is the current accessibility sufficient to meet the requirements?
