Skip the line really is must. Once inside the experience is unique. Be sure to bring small bottles of water or be ready to trow them in the trash big one are no allowed.

Finally being able to see David in person it was just amazing and inspiring. A must see when in Florence.

When we arrived at the Galarria D’ Academia, we saw lines that looked like the worst, think Disney without any organized approach. We met our rep at the assigned spot. He handed us tickets and told us where to stand. Although this line was still daunting, it began to move. It still took some time to get in, but it was definitely worth it as we wanted to see David. Once inside, it did not feel crowded at all, and we could stay by David as long as we wanted for some great pictures.

The process was confusing. The guide just put us in a line which was not a real line. Her coat covered up her badge so she was also hard to find. There is no such thing as a skip the line. It is a timed entry. The way it works is you get assigned a time of entry. Don’t worry, it won’t be close to the actual time of entry. You will wait on the street until your time is called on two little signs that you won’t be able to see. Once your time is called, then you get in line and wait. Lots of chaos. Very little guidance for 1st timers. David was cool, other than that, eh.

We came , we saw , we conquered ! It was a great experience ! Our son is an artist and we had an extensive list of masterpieces to see . Michaelangelos David was at the top of our list. La Vacanza Travel was highly recommended to use for vouchers and tickets and reservations for the Academia . We met our contact at the flowerpot and we skipped the line. We also had water and gelato while we waited at the nearby store. David was magnificent!! Thank you La Vacanza Travel!!
