Well the tour was cancelled due to the lack of customers for the tour; however, I was offered a different tour to Heidelberg and Rothenburg instead. It was pretty cool seeing all the sites and fellow travelers and football fans. The tour guide Thomas was great and funny. Just for information (I didn’t know this at the time), but Frankfurt’s tour season kinda of ends prior to the end of October. The reason for a brief continuation of tours were due mainly of the NFL games being played in consecutive weeks in Frankfurt. Almost all the people on the tour were football fans from KC or Miami.

I requested & paid for the day trip to Rothenburg but was told as I checked in no driver was available for Rothenburg, so this trip would be for both Rothenburg & Heidelberg. Check your records La Vacanza Travel,I did the Heidelberg trip 2 days before. Tour guide never introduced himself, and although a lovely man, we tromped thru the darkest of alleys & cobblestone streets & climbed the wall, while all the Christmas festivities were behind us. It was a 13 hour bus ride with no water & only 2 bathroom breaks, & less than 2 hours in each town. Very disappointing.

Thomas was our guide and he was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Germany and Frankfurt and made our trip to Rothenburg amazing! Rothenburg is a quaint, beautiful, medieval town that has so much charm and the largest Christmas market! We absolutely loved every second! We missed the Christmas markets by a few days but totally worth the trip, about 1.5 hour drive from Frankfurt, a must see!!

We had a day to kill in Frankfurt, so we ventured to the town of Rothenburg. It takes about 2 hours to reach Rothenburgh, but the drive is worth it. The town itself is beautiful with a lot of history and things to see. Our guide Peter was incredible with knowledge and kindness.
