Spätburgunder or Gewurztraminer doesn't roll easily off the tongue, but both these German wines do flow very well down your throat. Join me on a grape escape to try the best German wines in the Mosel, Pfalz, Rhein valley.

When it comes to the world of wine Germany has been in the wine game since the Romans and offers some of the world's most elegant and aromatic wine varieties, most notably for the noble Riesling. But getting your hands on a bottle outside of Germany can be hard to find. The regions best-kept wine secrets are rarely exported as locals love every last drop. This is why Weinköpfe exists. We believe wine was made for sharing. My German wine tours aim to share with you the best quality wines, most beautiful views, historical sights and culinary delights the regions of Germany have to offer.

What Can You Expect?

This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Rhine Valley, Rhineland-Palatinate Germany

Starting with a pick up in Frankfurt or Mainz area from your hotel at 10:00 we will drive approx. 45 mins to discover the romantic Rhein Valley where the Kings of Riesling in the Rheingau meet the 1000 hills of Rheinhessen.

You will get to see small historic villages that are 1000 years old along the Rhine river as it curves its way down to the famous wine village of Rüdesheim.

Along the way, we will stop at 2-3 award-winning, historically significant and high-quality German vineyards to learn about dry Riesling and regional varieties including Pinot tasting 10+ wines during each tasting.

After all the wine we will stop for lunch to enjoy regional wine tapas that includes local cheese platters, baked goods and charcuterie. So you can sip back ensuing you will try plenty of wines, food and views along the way.

We will return to your hotel in the Frankfurt / Mainz area at 5:00.

    Our wine tour guide was wonderful! We know a bit about wine generally, but his discussions about Rieslings we tasted were educational, interesting and, most importantly, fun. We highly recommend this wine experience.

    We were scheduled to have a layover in Frankfort on our flight from Las Palmas to Houston, so we decided to stay an extra day and go on a wine tour. We were tired from the whole trip and my wife expressed her opinion that we might just skip the tour, but then decided to go. It was a wise choice as we thoroughly enjoyed everything. We booked the all day Grape Escapes Rhine Valley tour. Carl with Weinköpfe Grape Escapes was incredible as he told us all about the wines and the grapes as well as the topology and soil of the vineyards. Carl drove on the back roads through beautiful vineyards and quaint villages while providing interesting commentary. We visited four wineries and tasted several wines at each one. We had always considered Riesling wine to be very sweet and did not like it at all until Carl introduced us to great Riesling’s that were very dry and tasted great. We would unconditionally recommend this tour to anyone interested in wine.

    Carl does a great job and is very knowledgeable. This is a private or semi private tour. We tried white and red Rieslings and everyone at the wineries was very polite and helpful. The lunch stop was delicious. Carl was very flexible and was able to pick us up at one hotel and drop us off at another at the end of the day. We really appreciated his vibrance, positive attitude, and just general happy demeanor.

    The wine bar that was our last stop was absolutely incredible. I don't usually like wine, but there wasn't a single wine Carl recommended that I didn't like. Absolute 5-star host.
