Stop At: Cappadocia, Cappadocia
This morning tour explores a couple of valleys in the northern part of the region of Cappadocia where there are many varied rock formations rising from the earth taking on weird shapes, some of which are known as 'fairy-chimneys'.
The two valleys we visit are Devrent and Pasabag or Imaginary and Monk's Valley to make it more simple. You will see 'fairy chimneys', animal shaped rocks resembling a camel, dolphin and whatever else your imagination sees, even the Virgin Mary holding Jesus Christ as a child.
In Monk's Valley, some of the most eye-catching fairy chimneys rise from the ground in the middle of a vineyard. These are known as mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys due to the twin and triple caps which perch on the top of the rock pillars.
