For the steep fee of 20 Euro I thought we’d see more. Once you’ve seen the fairy/ monk valley chimneys, the Deverent valley and seen the underground city then really the Gerome National Park/ Museum isn’t worth it at all. I thought we would see a lot of beautiful paintings or mosaics in the caves but instead what we saw were all properly damaged or defaced paintings such that most of the faces were removed and either way most of the paintings were so badly damaged you could barely see it. So I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Coming here was a dream come true. It was absolutely fascinating. We particularly loved the paintings in the rock churches even though some involved a climb. The history of the area intrigued us and it was easy to imagine monks making this place their home.

This is a must visit in Cappadocia. History shows the struggle of Christians to hide their place of worship. How their faith has brought them. Many church remnants can be found, but is an uphill climb going there. Besides , cameras videos and photo ops are not allowed. Some dark church needs extra payment i dont know what that is. This is a heritage protected site,
