    It's about as bad an experience as one could have, basically a scam. Samuel Li, the tour operator, texted me asking me to meet earlier, but I couldn't, to which he replied he'd see me at the original start time of 7:30. I texted him when I arrived, but he never heard back. I waited a half hour, and he never responded. I put a refund request into TA/La Vacanza Travel, shared the texts below. I also asked for the uber expenses as I had to take one to meet Sam. They denied both a the very least they should refund the tour, the operator was a no show after confirming he'd be there. He also ignored both my texts after I arrived at the designated meeting spot (see photos). DON"T BOOK THIS TOUR.

    The most disappointing food tour ever. Guide Sam walked a long time before first stop. At the beginning he talked about finishing early and food was just OK. Finished one hour early. We were not impressed

    Unlike the tour description, we were not guided for 30 minutes through the Temple St night market - the guide dropped us off at the head of the block and said everything is for tourists and menus are in English. He did this even though I said I was very hungry and wanted help selecting dishes. We also did not get the grilled skewers, coconut water or Michelin rated desserts described in the online tour description. The “tastings” we got consisted of sharing a take out dish of gummy rice rolls, six little fish balls, some Shaomai fish dumplings - all from one corner take out stall/restaurant. They were pretty awful - just gummy, bland, drinking food. Our other two tastes were an also carbs, despite me saying I wanted meat or veggies - pineapple buns (one each!) and a waffle to share. Samuel was intelligent but did not speak clearly, and did not seem to want to talk about food. He did not provide a backstory on the vendors, or seem to have any friendly relationship with them. Compared to the many other food tours we have had in cities around the world, this one was awful - a waste of time and a rip-off.

    This tour guide did not show up for our tour. We tried to contact at the time of the tour when we arrived at the designated meeting place and did not receive any response.

    I've been to HK several times, but never had a guide. Sam provided some interesting insights into Hong Kong and took us to places we probably never would have otherwise. His experiences added extra flair to the trip, making it that much more memorable.
