From your downtown hotel the drive to Lantau island is approximately 60 minutes. With our restricted road permit we are able to drive directly to the attractions with hassles. On the way we able to see the Hong Kong Disneyland hotels (driving pass) the serene nature of the untouched national parks of Hong Kong.

Stop At: Tai O, Hong Kong China

The famous 500 year old fishing village. The Venice of Hong Kong. Exploring the authentic fishing village one of a kind that you don’t want to miss. Walking by tin sheeted houses where locals live and blend yourself within the locals vibe. The beautiful sceneries are great opportunities for photographs. There is also a chance of taking a boat ride (optional) to go out to the open water of the pearl river delta in taking a glimpse of the longest over sea bridge in the world (34 miles)

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha), Lantau Island, Hong Kong China

Visiting the main attraction of the day. Vehicle will be parked at the temple and will be walking up the 250 steps to walk up to the Buddha, part of the Buddhism study journey. Should steps be an issue (elderly or disability) please notify your guide on the day and we can make arrangements.

Stop At: Po Lin (Precious Lotus) Monastery, Lantau Island, Hong Kong China

The Po Lin monastery was founded since the 1970s and have been remodelling itself to its traditional Chinese architecture design today. One of the most popular Buddhist temple in Hong Kong. Occasionally there are Buddhist study ceremonies conducting which forms the area into religiously in enhancing your experience.

Great way to spend half a day. Well worth getting outside of the city to see a different perspective. The tour is worth the money as it allows for an efficient use of time. Liz was our guide, and she was amazing. She's knowledgeable, kind, and has a great personality. She went the extra mile to make sure we had the best experience and clearly paid close attention so we were always engaged and happy with the tour.

We had excess time between Cruise end (AM) in Hong Kong and return flight home to Sydney, Australia (PM). We found Asia Private Tours online and liked the reviews so decided to contact Jacky to organize a 5hr tour. As we had already done 2 cruise excursions of HK, Jacky suggested we do Lantau Isl and put together an itinerary for us to review. Not only did we find the process with Jacky easy and without stress (end of a 15 cruise), the whole process was seemless and without fault from pickup at Cruise Terminal to drop off at HK Airport terminal. Linda (guide) and Henry (driver) were professional yet very friendly and knowledgeable, we got to experience places that were not on offer during cruise excursions, they allowed us the time to 'take our time' and we were not rushed. We would thoroughly recommend that if you have 'time to kill' in HK, that you get in touch with Jacky at Asia Private Tours!

We only had a morning in Hong Kong before our flight in the afternoon, but Jacky made our limited time so valuable! He picked us up from the hotel early in the morning and showed us all around Lantau Island. He shared stories, history and interesting facts about the area and the people that lived there. We were able to visit the fishing village, the monastery and the large Buddha. We were promptly brought back to the airport to catch our flight. So glad we were able to see a part of Hong Kong during our short stay! Jacky emailed us after we returned home with a whole file of pictures he took on our tour. So thoughtful and considerate!

Liz was an excellent tour guide and the driver was also very accommodating. Liz's English was very good as was her knowledge of Hong Kong and Lantau Island. She went out of her way to take pictures of us at the big Buddha and at other stops during the tour.
