I would definitely recommend this tour. We had Ivan as our tour guide. He was really knowledgeable and made the walk thoroughly enjoyable and interesting. Although we have been to Hong Kong before and have previously wandered about in the Sheung Wan and Central area on our own, we never really knew the history of the place. I learned a great deal during the tour. The tour operator (all communication was via Ada) was really helpful in adjusting the start time to suit our flight plans and agreeing to start the tour from our hotel instead of the MTR station. A day prior to the tour, they discovered a protest was planned to take place at Central and this would have coincided with the latter third of our tour. I am very grateful they agreed to go ahead with the scheduled tour after I chose to ignore all their dire warnings about the protest and declined the option to defer to another day. They could have chosen to cancel but didn't. Nothing untoward happened. We were very well taken care of. Ivan kept track of what was going on at the protest site via messages from friends. I got a few snaps of the police in their riot gear and guns loaded with canisters of tear gas from a afar up on the hill on way to St John's Cathedral. All quite exciting! ps. I was prepared to get tear gassed, if need be, and requested Ada to get some baking soda for me ahead of time.

Despite the inexpensive price, the tour was more impressive than what I had expected. ‘’A living fusion of East and West” is really an accurate description of HK, and the architectures tell us all, this second you might be seeing the Chinese styled Man Mo Temple, but you will be seeing a Gothic architecture the next . The tour guides Emily and Cathy were knowledgeable, they told us lots of unknown stories about the colonial Hong Kong. I think this tour suits you as long as you like taking photos of architectures and if you are a history fanatic like me, it is definitely more enriching and inspiring than other ordinary sightseeing tours!
