Overview

This half day activity includes both local wet market walking tour and a cooking class. During the class, you will learn to cook 3 Chinese dishes, (2 persons per team, all hands on), to be followed by a demonstration dish towards the end. The customers will get to relax and enjoy all the different dishes cooked afterward. This is a great introduction to Chinese culinary culture!

This is a highly customize course! Unless the customers do not specify what they want to learn, we make recommendations to our customers what dishes to cook to fit their taste preference and also to make sure they can get all the key ingredients for the dishes we teach them when they are back home.

We are located in a commercial building with around 4000 sq ft area. Our facility has all the equipment that one sees in any upscale commercial kitchen. That said, we will teach you how to adopt your cooking process for the average domestic kitchen. Come sign up if you like to explore Chinese cooking!

Meet up at Kwun Tong MTR station A1 exit ground level and go on a walking tour to a local wet market to watch the merchants selling all fresh meat, vegetables, seafood and etc.. You will see many exotic fruits from mainland China and the rest of the world. Your guide will take you to see Chinese BBQ shops and noodles shops along the way.

After getting some fresh ingredients from the wet market, walk to the cooking studio where to begin your 3-course Chinese cooking class. You will learn how to prepare and cook the appetizer, main dish plus fry rice or noodles step by step. When the cooking process is completed, you will sit down and enjoy your lunch or dinner with the chef with complementary dessert.

Sample Menu

• Pan fried and steamed dumplings - The filling is usually minced pork, but upon request can also be ground beef or vegetables
• Gong Po Chicken - A very popular Sichuan stir fry dish. Most of the ingredients used are easy to source in most countries.
• Hot and sour dish - Normally it is made with sliced pork, but a vegan version can also be arranged. Spicy and sour but not too overwhelming.
• Fried rice - Fried rice with preserved Chinese vegetables and pine nuts. Strictly vegan but amazingly delicious.

We met close to the market, had a wonderful tour there and then went to the cooking studio, modern and well equipped. We learned so much about the dishes we prepared , prepared some ourselves and had a delightful meal. Not just the cooking but learning about the ingredients and the food in hong kong in general. Fun experience and very highly recommended!

The experience was authentic and thoroughly enjoyable. My father and I had a bespoke culinary adventure that was a truly memorable moment and the highlight of our short stay in Hong Kong. We highly recommend it.
