Pass By: Dolmabahce Palace, Visnezade Mahallesi Dolmabahce Cd, Istanbul 34357 Turkiye

you take a Bosphorus tour, you’ll pass many lavish and intriguing buildings, but the most opulent of them all, surely has to be the 600m long Dolmabahçe Sarayı (Dolmabahce Palace). It took 13 years to build and was completed in 1856, and served as the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire until 1922. The palace was commissioned by Sultan Abdülmecid (who decided there should be a more European palace than Topkapi) and designed by Armenian architect Karabet Balian and his son Nikoğos Balian. (read Balyan family on wikipedia). It is an ostentatious blend architectural styles including Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassical and modern Ottoman, dripping in luxury

Pass By: Buyuk Mecidiye Cami, Mecidiye Mah. Cami Sok. No:2 Ortakoy, Besiktas, Istanbul Turkiye

The mosque which decorates many postcards of the city is right on the Bosphorous, in Ortaköy. It is officially called Büyük Mecidiye Camii (Grand Imperial Mosque). It was ordered to be built by Sultan Abdülmecid on the grounds of an earlier mosque. The mosque was built between 1854-1856, in neo-Baroque style. Nikoğos Balyan was the architect of the mosque, who was also the architect of the Dolmabahçe Palace. Within the mosque, there are several examples of Islamic calligraphy executed by Sultan Abdülmecid himself.

Pass By: Bosphorus Bridge, Kuzguncuk Mahallesi 15, Istanbul Turkiye

The Bosphorus Bridge is one of two bridges that spans the Bosphorus Strait, connecting the European and Asian sides of Istanbul. It stretches from Ortakoy on the European side to Beylerbeyi on the Asian side and is sometimes referred to as the First Bosphorus Bridge. At 1560 meters long, the Bosphorus Bridge was the fourth longest suspension bridge in the world when it opened in 1973 and was the first bridge to connect Europe and Asia since a bridge spanning the Dardanelles in 480 B.C. Today, it is the 21st longest suspension bridge in the world. In 2007, an LED lighting system was installed to illuminate the bridge at night and the computerized system is now used to create a colorful light show every evening. While the bridge is typically closed to pedestrians, it opens each October for the Istanbul Eurasia Marathon – the only marathon that crosses from one continent to another.

Pass By: Rumeli Fortress, Yahyakemal Cad. No.28, Istanbul 34470 Turkiye

Rumelihisarı or Boğazkesen Castle is a medieval fortress located in Istanbul, on a series of hills on the European banks of the Bosphorus. The fortress also lends its name to the immediate neighborhood around it in the city's Sarıyer district.

Pass By: Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, Hisarustu Kavacik Yolu, Istanbul Turkiye

Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, also known as the Second Bosphorus Bridge, spanning the Bosphorus strait. It is named after the 15th century Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, who conquered Istanbul in 1453 and ended the Byzantine Empire. The bridge was designed by Freeman Fox & Partners, who had previously also designed the Bosphorus Bridge. An international consortium of three Japanese companies, one Italian and one Turkish company carried out the construction works. The bridge was completed on July 3, 1988 and opened by Prime Minister Turgut Özal who drove his official car by himself as the first to pass. The cost of the bridge amounted to USD 130 million.

Pass By: Beylerbeyi Palace, Abdullahaga Cad., Istanbul Turkiye

Beylerbeyi meaning "Lord of Lords", is located in the Beylerbeyi neighbourhood of Üsküdar district in Istanbul, at the Asian side of the Bosphorus. An Imperial Ottoman summer residence built in the 1860s, it is now situated immediately north of the 1973 Bosphorus Bridge.

Pass By: KIz Kulesi, Uskudar, Istanbul 34668 Turkiye

The Maiden's Tower, also known as Leander's Tower since the medieval Byzantine period, is a tower lying on a small islet located at the southern entrance of the Bosphorus strait 200 m from the coast of Üsküdar in Istanbul.

The window seats allow you to enjoy the view of the river and the isle seats allow you to have a clear view of the entertainment, but if you are seated in the middle of the table then you are at a big disadvantage as you don’t have a clear view of the river or the entertainment. The entertainment itself was ok. The food was very disappointing, you are not given a menu, you are just asked if you want ‘meat or fish’. The fish option arrived first but it took between 30 - 45 mins for the meat to arrive, so if you chose fish and your partner chose meat, you could not enjoy your meal together. Then to make things worse, the portion size was clearly insufficient for a fully grown adult. This is not just my opinion many people on the boat were commenting on how disappointed they were with the main course. I wish I had taken a photos to illustrate my point. I guess the boat operator’s strategy was to fill everyone up with bread and dips. In regards to drinks, we were given an option of 1 glass of Coke, Fanta or Sprite and then shortly after we were given a small bottle of water. Considering we were on the boat for nearly 4 hours this was also clearly insufficient. My partner had to complain to get another glass of coke. To summarise…our opinion is that the entertainment was ok but the food and drinks was very disappointing. Overall not very good value for money.

My partner and I wished to spend our last night in turkey on an evening dinner boat ride. We researched on trip advisor and all search engines and came across this one amongst a few other highly rated evening cruises. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! I don’t normally leave a review but honestly, please do not listen to previous reviews as I personally think they are fake or fixed. The service was terrible. The food was absolutely disgusting - for starters, we had a selection of “Mezze” that can only be described as off date food with stale bread. Before dinner, there was a very random single chicken nugget with a single potato croquet (tater tot) which tasted raw. I seriously don’t know what the need for it really was. We had the drinks package with limited selection, we initially had a gin and tonic which came in a very small glass and tasted alcohol-less. It only got worse with the dinner (selection of fish, meatballs, chicken, veg pasta)……we opted for the chicken and my partner for the fish. The chicken was an under cooked with no real flavour and the fish was rubbery. The couple sitting in front of us opted for vegetarian (she ate one piece of pasta and left the rest). The best thing of the entire food was the rice! I am writing this review whilst I am on the cruise! It is your choice if you wish to believe it or not but my advice is to not waste your money and time and choose something else.

The cruise was so entertaining and the performers did an amazing job too ! However, one of the waiters apparently seemed really annoyed at my big tip to one of the dancers and was forcing me to give him money too ! At first I thought he was joking but he openly said that he wanted money too . I began to ignore him and while leaving the boat he was cussing at me ! Shocked by this weird behavior.
