My guide, Mr Orcun, was lovely: he brought me up and down showing me the different landmarks. I wanted to take a lots of pictures and he was so willing to do it, even suggesting the right poses and spots. We also visited a carpet maker which was magical: I probably overstayed my visit there, but it was too interesting. Lovely guide who knows one or two nice shops for some good shopping too (Istanbul shops are flooded with fake goods which shop keepers try to push onto you, so a guide like him comes very handy) ;) I didn't have the impression to be on a tour with a guide, but with a friend, which was lovely! Highly recommended.

My Solo Trip To Turkey .. Istanbul, Cappadocia, Izmir, Kusadasi & Pamukkale. Interesting & Intriguing Istanbul .. In Tantalizing & Terrific Turkey 🇹🇷. Welcome to Istanbul .. I am finally here again .. A megalopolis city, with 20 million inhabitants that is being developed and expanded rapidly on a yearly basis .. Istanbul & Turkey here I come. Checked into the Holiday Inn Hotel on Topkapi area .. Centrally & Conveniently located in the old part of the city old centre close to Sultan Ahmet area with the Blue tram lines running across the hotel. The city is well equipped with its transportation services with the trams, metro trains and bus services .. So, it’s easy to get around this huge megapolis by buying a transport card at 5 TL, to purchase a daily transport ticket at 2 TL, very seamless connections. I started my personalized city tour with a small group of people from India and South Africa, headed by our tour guide Onur Enür, who is a seasoned and experienced tour guide, together with his apprentice @ Ozzie .. We learned a lot about Istanbul old city ares from these two guys who are very helpful .. Thank you guys for tour guide .. It was an excellent Day Tour in Istanbul Old City around the Sultan Ahmet areas. We covered these main tourist attractions : - Hippodrome of Constantinople which was a circus that was the sporting center of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire, and now being turned into a square called Sultan Ahmet Meydani in the heart of Istanbul, with fragments of the original Greek structures still surviving. - Topkapi Palace, one of the biggest palace in the world during its prime, which was simply amazing visit especially getting to see with my very own eyes the relics of our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. that includes his clothings, tooth, beard, weapons, chop and holy book @ Al Quran, and those relics used by his closest companions @ Saidinah Abu Bakar, Saidinah Uthman, Saidinah Umar, Saidinah Ali, plus those relics used by his beloved wife @ Saidinatul Aishah & his beloved daughter @ Saidinatul Fatima .. This is simply the highlight of my trip here .. I was simply in awed looking at those very important relics. - Sultan Ahmet Blue Mosque .. I skipped the Friday prayer because I am a ‘musafir’ and I ended praying the 2 rakaat of solat jamak & qasar prayers for Solat Zuhor & Solat Asar plus the 2 rakaat for Solat Sunat .. Simply Spiritually Comforting .. The queue was so long but I managed to cut through because I wanted to pray at the mosque .. Which was partly close for renovations. - Hagia Sophia .. Which was simply amazing and breathtaking with it beautiful doom that so beautiful and still standing strong .. Where it was used as a church for more than 920 years and then it was used as a mosque for more than 480 years and now it’s being turned into a museum for these two very important religion. - The Meeting Point of Civilization in Istanbul between the East meeting the West, where it’s the only city in the world that is located between two continents of Asia and Europe. - The largest tulip live carpet on the ground, where tulip originally cape from Istanbul in Turkey that is the symbol of this city, before it was brought out to Amsterdam in The Netherlands .. Simply Stunning. - The Istanbul Grand Bazaar, where it was a huge huge bazaar filled to the brim with people end to end .. One could hardly walk, let alone shop, haggle and buy .. It was way too crowded .. We were supposed to go and see a carpet shop and learn how they make their famous Turkish carpets that are simply exquisite and stunning .. We just didn’t have enough time. - The only qualm I had was, this tour didn’t also include another trip to the other iconic building nearby @ The Sultan Suleyman Mosque. Lunch was included, and it was a great lunch session that we had in this nice cozy kebab restaurant .. Yummytummydelicious! With the help from our tour guide @ Onur, we managed to buy our food goodies from a highly reputable shop to buy their famous Turkish Delights & Baklavas .. Yummytummydelicious! With the help from Onue, I also managed to buy the Turkish local SIM cards @ Türk Cell, which is very handy yo have here locally. This Fez Travel Day Trip Tour to the Old City of Istanbul is highly recommended .. But one needs to walk around a lot .. As I ended doing more that 24,000 steps during this Day Trip Tour. Highly recommended and worth the money, time and energy .. Check it out. Thanks Onur and Ozzie for your tour guide here. Zalarji’s Journey in 2019 28th April 2019

Do not buy tickets online from this agency. Although on their site they claim “no printing” needed, in fact after you buy the tix, they send you a note you need to exchange your e-tickets for paper tix at their agency, without as so much sending you the agency address. What a scam! We lost 3 tix = 33 Euro.
