Turkish Bath is a cleaning method which has been used since the initial years of Ottoman Empire. Your skin gets softer as the result of perspiration in the hammam.

The Historical Ağa hamamı was constructed by Fatih Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror . Ağa Hamamı was used as a private hamam by Mehmed the Conqueror and his sons. At that time, Beyoglu District was not a settlement area and the Padishahs would come to Beyoglu District for hunting.
The culture of Aga hamami concept is purposely to clean your body and also with oil massage and face mask.
The purpose consist of four package which include traditional package ,massage package,massage package with head massage and Ottoman package.
The traditional package include ,Hammam entrance, body scrubbing and foam bath.
Also the massage package include extra 20 minute full body massage in addition with the traditional package
İt is a mixed hammam, Main Marble is mixed but separate room for scrub,foam bath and massage for ladies.
finally we provide you with free towels, slippers and apple tea.Guest have to be couple.

I achieved a life long goal of spending our American Thanksgiving (a.k.a. Turkey Day) in TURKEY! So, for the actual Thanksgiving holiday, we filled the day with local and fun activities - one of which was a family Turkish bath experience at Aga Hamami. What a memorable Thanksgiving holiday! Our hotel booked the service on our behalf and it was cash only. Upon arrival (leave yourself time to find it in the winding streets of Istanbul), we were promptly met and assured that it was okay we were a few minutes late due to getting a bit lost. Aga Hamami provides towels, slippers, etc and did a great job giving us piece of mind given we had NEVER done a Turkish bath before. They were one of the few outfits agreeable to us bring the children, 4 and 7 year old boys. If you are looking for an authentic Turkish experience, it does not get more authentic than this...it has been operating as a hamam since 1454!!! I hope to return some day!!!

Easy to find location and easy to book! The smells and experience overall was worth it and staff were attentive and super friendly. Going to a hamami when you're in Istanbul is a must!

I went to Istanbul for a weekend in December 2023. It was my first time there and one thing I wanted to do was to go to a Turkish Bath. I made a Google search and found Aga Hamami, the oldest Turkish Bath in the city. The reviews and pictures looked amazing so I decided to make a booking. It was the best decision I made during this trip. I booked the massage package, which included entrance to the Turkish Bath, scrubbing, foam bath and oil massage. From the moment I walked it, I felt welcomed. The gentleman at the reception was very kind and showed me the changing room so then I could start my whole relaxing experience with the bath. After that, I moved to a separate room for the scrubbing and foam bath. The lady (sorry I forgot her name), was also welcoming and smiling. She scrubbed my whole body first and then the foam bath followed by a massage. I nearly fell asleep as it was so relaxing. After that I was asked to go upstairs and was offered a cold drink with a Turkish delight. Another lady (sorry forgot the name too)took me to the massage room for the oil massage. It did not disappoint either. The massage was so relaxing! And guess what, I was almost asleep by the end of it. I’ve never felt so relaxed like that. Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Aga Hamami if you go to Istanbul. Amazing staff, beautiful place and décor and on top of that, the massage package was a great value for money. Thanks to all the team at Aga Hamami for making my trip in Istanbul memorable.

It was an amazing experience. Such a wonderful place, build in 1454 it still feels like back in the times of the ottoman empire. Very clean facilities and the masseur did a brilliant job. The whole treatment was so relaxing. Definitely worth visiting especially as a couple since it’s one of the few hamams that is gender mixed. 5 Star!!!
