Witness an unforgettable sunrise from the top of ancient Masada and enjoy time at beautiful Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea on this morning trip from Jerusalem! Leave before dawn and travel to all three sites, enjoying time to explore each independently. Climb up the Masada mountainside to experience the sunrise over the mountains and Dead Sea, behold the waterfalls at the paradise-like oasis of Ein Geidi, and finish with a ‘floating’ swim and mud bath at the shimmering Dead Sea. Entrance fees and meals are at your own expense.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Masada National Park, Tamar Regional Council, Israel

Leaving Jerusalem, we’ll travel south through the beautiful Judean Desert to the foot of the Masada fortress which stands beside the Dead Sea. You’ll take a cable car to the top of the fortress, enjoy the special views, and explore the archaeological ruins. Masada is one of Israel’s most important archaeological sites, and the site of one of the greatest tales of Jewish heroism. The excavated ruins are fascinating to explore, and the remarkable location high above the surrounding desert and the Dead Sea, makes this an impressive experience. You’ll ascend to the top of Masada via a cable car.

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: En Gedi Nature Reserve, Route 90 Road 90 Israel

We will drive to Ein Gedi, a desert oasis where you can take a short hike, where you’ll likely encounter mountain goats and other creatures among the vegetation. The nature reserve includes a stream of cool running water, leading to various pools and refreshing springs, where you are welcome to bathe on hot days.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Dead Sea, Israel

The last part of the tour is spent at the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea. Enjoy the salty waters and rejuvenating therapeutic mud, floating and relaxing, before we return to Jerusalem.

My flights into Israel were suddenly cancelled causing a more than 24 hour delay in my arrival. That meant in turn that I was going to miss my scheduled tour. I emailed Abraham Tours to explain the situation and asked to be moved to another date; while waiting for a reply - caused by the time difference - I got worried that the only other date I could go was going to fill up, so I made a second booking. Abraham Tours not only honored my request to move my original booking to the new date, they refunded my money for the second booking. They didn't have to do that, so I really appreciate it. The tour itself was everything I hoped it would be. Abraham Tours has it down to a science with excellent scheduling, ample time on site, clear directions, and a comfortable bus experience en route. I would 100% take additional tours with them next time I am in Israel!

We were incredibly disappointed that the Dead Sea portion of the trip brought us to an illegal Israeli settlement in the West Bank. For a company that promotes itself as sharing "both sides," it was shocking to be told they have partnered with a settler organization for this portion of the trip, especially when there are other Dead Sea locations outside of the West Bank that aren't operated by individuals whose presence blocks Palestinian access to the Dead Sea. If you need a ride to Masada, Ein Gedi, or the Dead Sea, there are other companies that provide this service without you donating your money to the settler movement.

Samuel was very knowledgeable. The tour was prompt and meeting point was easy to find. My husband hiked the masada up/down. He said, it was a little hard with his bad knees . Bring a small flashlight because it is still a little dark at 5am. But the view up the Masada is interesting. Ein Jedi and Dead Sea was amazing. The tour gave us enough time to explore.

This was the highlight of our two-week stay in Israel. It was worth every step of the hike up Masada in the dark to be at the top to see the sun rise. Tour leader Liori did a superb job. She was brilliantly organised, gave clear instructions and useful tips as we arrived at each spot, without being overbearing. The day was well-structured and we had plenty of time at each of the three stops to enjoy where we were. We'd highly recommend this trip and I'd use Abraham Tours again on our next visit to Israel.

We were told the snake path was closed, and the tour left 45 minutes later than usual because of it. When we got to Masada we were told the path is actually open, and we're hiking it, when sunrise was in 15 minutes and it's nearly an hour hike up. Also, for the price I was not expecting such a large group - it was a full coach bus (54 people). Our guide/organizer for the day was great though, and we did get a decent amount of time at each place.
