Learn with our Chef how to cook a 3 courses meal in a lush and green environment. Optional market visit accompanied by our Chef.Free pickup from Kuta, Legian and Seminyak area.

Visit Jimbaran fresh fish market accompanied by our Chef. Purchase some fresh ingredients and spices for your cooking class.

11:00 AM / 4.00 PM

Meet our chef and get a first introduction to the ingredients and equipment used for today’s cookery class

11:30 AM / 4.30 PM

Get ready and start your first preparation under our chefs supervision.

1:00 PM / 6.00 PM

Finish up your last preparation and enjoy your self-cooked Balinese. After you successfully finished your cookery class, receive a certificate from our Chef. Keep your class apron as a memory for your Balinese cooking experience.

GODOH BIU - Balinese fried banana


GADO-GADO - vegetable salad with peanut dressing

PEPES TAHU - steam bean curd in banana leave

BUBUR INJIN - Balinese black rice pudding

The chef, location and food was great. The only down side was it was advertised as maximum 4 people which was a deciding factor in booking this booking school over others as we had a group of four already, but another couple were also booked in. Also, we had to pay for a glass of water which I felt should be included.

The activity starts with a visit to the Jimbaran fish market where you learn about different fishes and buy some to cook later on, we visited a vegetables market as well. And went to the workshop in this beautiful location, The Amala, the chef was very knowledgeable about Balinese food and was happy to answer all of our questions, a great experience that I can totally recommend!

We had a wonderful cooking experience with Chef Putu at The Amala. We chose Menu 1 and learned to prepare the basa gede, lawar salad, tum ikan and dadar gulung. Chef carefully explained the ingredients and how to prepare each dish. He also offered suggestions for ingredients that may be hard to find back home. Everything was so frivolous and we ate to our heart’s content. Highly recommend the Balinese Cooking Class with Chef Putu!

We had such a great time doing the cooking class and market tour. The team was great and the food was delicious. There was plenty of small touches that went such a long way and made the experience even better.
