An over view. Tour of heritage areas of Fort Kochi and Jewish Town.
At Fort Kochi visit Chinese Fishing Nets. These fishing gadgets are introduced to Kochi by the Chinese traders in 14th century now found only in India at Fort Kochi. The second attraction is Church of St. Francis is in Fort Kochi. This is the first European Church built in India. Built by Portuguese and preserved here is the first tomb of Vasco Da Gama.
The third attraction we visit is the Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica counted as the one of the heritage edifices in Kerala.
The 4th attraction is the Dhobi Khana which is washer men's village where the process of washing cloths by the a dedicated community "Vannans".
The 5th attraction is the Dutch Palace at Jewish Town which is the Royal Palace of the Kochi Dynasty built by the Portuguese in 1550 CE.
the 6th attraction is the Jewish Town/synagogue wandering along the Jewish lanes fascinating the look of of the heritage Jewish quarters.
