Snorkeling & Floating fruits were great! The pig island is also beautiful and the pigs are very friendly. The picnic on the pig island and the sunset were beautiful.

Our family of four (2 kids aged 9 and 12) really enjoyed this experience. We were picked up in a comfortable van and driven to the dock on the south of the island. The boat was roomy and comfortable. Snacks and drinks were as advertised. The 2 employees on the boat were great. Because it’s a private tour we were able to adjust our plans; staying a bit longer at the snorkeling spot and reducing the time on pig island. We ended the day with some fine beach games and a beautiful sunset. Yes - this tour is more expensive than the group tours but if you like being able to do things at your own pace this is perfect.

My family and I had a wonderful experience with Captain Neung and his First Mate. They were absolutely friendly and amazing hosts. The van picked us up from our hotel very timely. The drive was about 30 minutes from where we were staying which was expected as the island is big and we were far from the pier. VIP Speed Boat staff were super friendly and greeted us immediately upon arrival. We signed waivers, used the restroom before we left, and then they showed us the speedboat. I read reviews from others complaining about the speedboat appearance but it’s total BS. The speedboat is perfect; you can tell it definitely is loved and used. Onboard, we were offered drinks and snacks immediately. We loved the reggae music choice selected by the crew. I even downloaded some of the cover songs after the ride (I.e. a reggae cover of Hotel California)! Stops included a view of Wat Laem from the ocean which is golden in the sun. Then we stopped at a cove and got beers and fruits on the cutest floaters ever! We did some swimming and seashell hunting on the shore. The water is very shallow too so very safe and perfect for children! Afterwards we stopped for snorkeling and even got to feed fishes with pieces of watermelon. We all agreed those were some of the best snorkeling gear we’ve had to date! My only warning is to watch out for the huge sea urchins that like to hang out on the rocks underwater too. Then it was off to Pig Island for a visit and picnic. Our boat was anchored further from the others which I really liked. My husband grew up on a farm so he loves animals and enjoyed the experience. I’m not big on animals cause I have allergies to their dandruff but yes, tourists, it will smell like animals live there so don’t expect jasmine fragrance on a ‘pig farm’. There are also others there as the island is a tourist attraction. Afterwards, we washed our hands in the bathroom and made our way to an adorable picnic spread the crew had set up. My only qualm were the tiny ants that wanted to enjoy the picnic too but they don’t bite. Just annoying. The food was great! It’s a wonderful light selection of fruits, cheese, olives and pickles, chips and beer. Again, I don’t know what others are expecting but that’s perfect for the heat and exercising we were getting. I wouldn’t want any meal heavier than that. We were stuffed full from all the munching. After an hour, the sun was setting and we went back. Even got some sunset pictures on the boat! I’d like to mention even the van drive back was pleasant. The driver was so attentive and kind. He turned off the lights in the van so we could sleep cause we were exhausted. As he approached our hotel, he simply switched the lights back on to gently wake us up. It was so kind. Thank you for everything to the entire crew! What a memorable experience for my brother, and his wife (first timers in Thailand) and my husband and I. It was definitely the highlight of our time on Koh Sumai. For the price we paid in USD to get a whole boat to ourselves and the wonderful service we received this experience is well worth the money!

I rated this. 3 because the captain and his assistant were very nice. I think the operator should have cancelled the trip. The wind was high and that made the water murky thus no beautiful coral or fish to see. It was a total bust. The drive from our hotel was :45 min. I think that should be explained then the itinerary should be spelled out. For the money I spent I don’t care to eat chips, soda or a beer. We did not go to a secluded island. We went to Pig island where there were tons of people. The snorkeling was terrible. I was so disappointed. When I booked I explained that all I wanted was to snorkel the rest was not important. The captain spoke very limited English so we did google translate and even he admitted that the snorkeling was not good. The ride back to the dock was so crazy bumpy that we were all soaked from the water coming up on deck. Once back no one said thank you or how was it, nothing. They put our things in the van and off we went back to the hotel. Pls be careful when booking this tour.

Our tour guide and captain were excellent! They were friendly, communicative, and they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our tour. Because our tour started late, they gave us extra time to make up for it— we were very grateful! The snorkeling and the picnic on the beach are what sold it for me. I would definitely recommend this tour!
