It was a total letdown, starting from the trip that have been postponed to 26th Dec by the operator, instead of the original date 25th dec. For the firefly cruise which was scheduled at 7PM, we've been picked up at 3:30 PM and dropped at 5PM on the location and we've to wait for 2 hours, doesn't make any sense. The magical experience as stated and shown in the pic, wasn't exactly magical atal. Instead you've to search for the fireflies within the bushes, sitting in the boat and we hardly saw a few of them and it's no means mesmerizing or memorable. Better to spend the time/money elsewhere.

The temple (Shakti Goddess) on the way is in isolation nearby oil plantation. It has south Indian intricate design full of deities. The next visit was a lighthouse on a hill overlooking the sea. The view was great as it was dawning. It followed monkey feed and sea food dinner. The food was ok, had to top up with Chilli Crab to make it real sea food. It was way expensive in a fishing village in an out post. The boat ride was good but not the view of the fireflies. May be its recommended in a dark night!

Great trip to see fireflies. William was our guide. He did a great job giving us information. There were only four on the tour, two groups of two. Unfortunately it was too late in the day to see the lighthouse, but the stop to feed the monkeys was fun. You have to be careful, but the guide gives plenty of info and he and the food sellers watch out for the guests. Boat ride was not too crowded. Good and dark and we did get to see quite a number of fireflies in the trees. They really do make it look like a Christmas tree. Not too far from Kuala Lumpur and worth the trip. It's a unique experience you don't find many other places if at all.

It was great to book with private tour as we can spend more time at each tourist spots and no need to rush. Also driver explained many things about Malaysian culture. Tour included going to some places such as Muslim palace and Hindu temple. Probably because of the weather we couldn't see that much fireflies, but bioluminescence water was incredibly beautiful. (Too dark to take picture, enjoy with your eyes!) All the procedure from booking to coming back to hotel were all very smooth. Something good to try when you are in KL!

Our guide Muhammad was great, really making the trip. The temple was nice although similar to most other Hindu temples although unusually it wasn't painted. Next was a tractor ride up a hill to see/feed the monkeys. They climbed all over us to get to the food but I enjoyed this far more than I expected as they were more cute than aggressive. Next was a fantastic meal, really tasty and far more than we could eat. Next the Fireflies. Not what I expected , actually better. Millions of them as we slowly drifted about 1m away from the trees. The trip was supposed to end with this but Muhammad went out of his way to take us to see the Royal Palace and the the River of Life. We got there as the display started and was far more impressive than during daylight hours.
