The driver-cum-guide will meet you in your hotel, followed by the drive to Bako National Park. The journey is by vehicle and traditional longboat and takes around 90 minutes. The national park is located on a small peninsula in a rugged part of Sarawak. What Bako lacks in size, it certainly makes up for in biodiversity – it boasts seven unique and distinct rainforest eco-systems and is one of the best places to see wildlife roaming around in their natural habitat.

The trails lead to rugged jungle-covered hilltops and secluded bays, coves and beaches.
As you walk, view the fascinating plant life, including mangroves, strangling figs, carnivorous pitcher plants and symbiotic ant plants. Unique geological features mark the coastline, including the famous Sea Stack. Keep a look out for mud skippers and blue-fiddler crabs in the mangroves. High in the trees, search for various species of birds and monkeys, including long-nosed proboscis monkeys which are endemic to Borneo. Beneath your feet, you may see lizards and insects of varying shapes, sizes and colours.
Throughout the day, your knowledgeable guide will tell you about the history of the park and all about the flora, fauna and geological formations.
In the afternoon return to Kuching by boat and vehicle, leaving this untouched piece of earth behind you. A packed lunch is included.
