There is a reconstructed Egyptian statue outside but the actual remains are right next to it. I was very impressed to see something from Egypt. It's really a beautiful piece of work. The statue does not have a head part, but you can easily see on the outside of the statue that he was wearing the headrest-style thing that the pharaohs wore. A small warehouse museum was established in the garden of the excavation house in order to preserve the artifacts unearthed after these excavations. Between 1900-13, excavations were carried out in the Acropolis by W. Dörpheld, H. Hepding, and P. Schatzwann. Due to the increase in the artifacts unearthed as a result of the excavations in the Asclepion as well as the excavations carried out in the Acropolis, the existing building was insufficient and a new museum building was needed.
