Nyoman is very gentle and friendly, Always present but never insistent, we share our plan with him and he add several jems we never discovered alone. The experience of blessing in the "secret" Temple was Simply Amazing. He knows Bali very well, he can offer you a tailor made tour and he is an expert driver.

This tour is truly an excellent way to really get a feel of Ubud and its surrounds. Greeted by Dewa in his airconditioned car (that you grow more grateful for as the day wears on!) we felt in good hands and although the destinations were of the tourist highlights you get a good sense of the Balinese culture and history if you take the time to look and ask questions. Certainly, you are caught into the tourist circuit and there were certainly better destinations than others but for a day, you get an idea of why it is so popular. Even the chaos of the long, slow roads provides you the opportunity to witness the life and colours of Bali and the crash of old and new, cultural and commercial, western and local in this melting pot of an island. The benefit of a private tour is that you can control your time and extend in places that captivate you and rush those that don’t. Dewa remained flexible and accommodating to our needs and wants, whilst guiding us in cultural sensitivities. The only area of real confusion was the lunch, where we ordered from an a la cart menu not really knowing what was covered. Inevitably we ended up paying for most of it. A more formal process (like a specific menu) may have helped but we were not too fussed. Tired and satisfied we finished our 9-hour day with good memories and a 1000 photos. We would recommend Dewa and his tour for a family or friends who want some control of their day and we would certainly use this experience to prepare a more be-spoked visit of Ubud in the future.
