Well, they finally managed to do the unthinkable. To raise a 120m high statue on the paradise island of Bali, raping the island's tranquil landscape. The statue sticks out like a red sock in the white laundry, something one never ever would want to experience. I'd be happy to pay a hefty entrance fee to see that thing be demolished, the sooner the better.
Great for Bali culture and dance show, reasonable price, good food, not easy to get taxi home. All and all worth going.
Not finished ,$15 per head entry another heap of $$$ to go up top of statue , $3 to get a lift up hill each way , or hire a bike which you have to push up because road is to steep to ride up so you can coast back down.No water falls as seen in pics ,Save your time and money maybe come back in another 10 years when it's finished and something to see
We took a detour on our way to Nusa Dua to see the big dark statue seen from the plane as we came into Denpasar, our hotel at Seminyak and the beaches. The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park has a statue of the Hindu god riding a mythical bird – Garuda. It is said that the statue is taller than the Statue of Liberty. The statue is mounted on a building that is still under construction. Once completed, it will have halls, restaurants and convention centers The master plan is to have accommodation, a water park, waterfalls, an amphitheatre and restaurants within the park.
