Overview

Nusa Penida is an island located at southeast of Bali, district of Klungkung regency. Here you could explore the most beautiful places such as: Kelingking beach, Broken beach, and Angel's Billabong. It is the largest and most exotic of the three Nusa Islands, its collection of unique Hindu temples and picturesque natural features of cliff formations and lagoons. This Penida island only has 14 villages, people mainly farm cassava and corn but due lack of getting fresh water little can be grown outside the rain season. Some informant said Nusa Penida generates all the power for other two Nusa in Bali which are Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan.

Spent far, far too long travelling in cars/taxi. At least 8 hours believe it or not. Boat ride to the island was the best bit. Highlight of the day was the journey back to mainland. Visit to broken beach and clinking beach are accidents waiting to happen. Very little time spent in each beauty spot visited, although each one was spectacular. Would have liked more time to explore. Lunch was awful, full of flies and lukewarm. Would not recommend.

We did the Nusa Penida tour through Bali sun tours and we got allocated the best driver! His name is Pandu, I would recommend hiring him as a driver if you ever come to Bali. Pandu was very accomodating, he made us feel safe and told us lots of stories about his life and educated us about Bali traditions and culture! I don’t have anything bad to say about the tour, it was such a great experience. The only thing I would recommend is that it would have been better to have the same driver all throughout the tour. When we reached Nusa Penida we had a different driver and it was very confusing. At the end of the tour, the people at ray fish where you board the boat were telling us that we had to pay them the money and trying to get us to pay! We ended up calling Bali Sun Tours and letting them know what was happening and they said that we pay our driver only when we get back to Bali. You have to be very careful not to trust anyone telling you to pay now. The Island was beautiful but the company we booked through need to get their act together at first they gave me the wrong pickup time which was 6.15 from Sanur then they told me 7am but never got there unti 8am.than on the paper work they had booked us in a coach but a car turned up to collect us (a party of 4 ) with 2 other passengers already in the car mind you we were all 50+ and we had to climb right over the back
