Overview

The main reason that scuba divers travel the world to get to Tulamben is the USAT Liberty Shipwreck, lying just 40 meters from the beach and certainly the most accessible WW II shipwreck that you are likely to dive

A combination of torpedoes and a volcanic eruption have caused this great ship to sit in shallow waters. The top sits in just 5 meters and the rest drops away to around 30 meters meaning all levels of diver can experience parts of this wreck, which is festooned with healthy corals, sea fans and great barrel sponges

With an easy shore entry, calm conditions and good visibility, the Tulamben Shipwreck is en excellent dive site for those trying scuba diving for the first time as well as for more experienced divers.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

In the morning, you will be pickup around 6.30 – 7.00 am, there will be lunch between dives ;returning to our Sanur dive school at 5.00 pm. The bus ride is approximately 2 hours each way but the wreck is well worth it; you'll also get to see some of the local villages and the breath-taking rice terraces along the way.

You will be doing two dives at the USAT Liberty shipwreck, a WWII casualty and the top site in Bali. The wreck lies from 3 meters to 30m, keep an eye out for the resident school of jacks, bumphead parrotfish, bluespotted stingrays, harlequin sweetlips, giant groupers and giant barracuda.

We have a great diving’s experience today, the staffs are so nice and provide professional instructions. They are careful and patience. One of our tutors ‘Nyoman’ are very nice and share his great diving’s experience and knowledge to us. Also, The photographer is high efficiency, he send all photos and videos after we finish our trip. I’m highly recommend this diving shop if you come to Bali.

We had the move amazing time, Guyer was an amazing diver master, super knowledgeable and wonderfully helpful. The whole day from the hotel pick up, to the drive, to the dives and lunch was all perfect. Both dives were so amazing, saw so many fish, eels, octopus and even a sea snake. The ship wreck was incredible.

Spent an amazing three day training for my open water certification with Guna. He is such a patient and deeply kind instructor and I always felt safe with his guidance. I was also lucky to have Ilstra help me with organize my booking and take underwater photos on the last day. The crew who helped with pickup/ dropoff and gear were also amazing. Hope to come back to other classes sometime soon!

Our dive guide Aswan was a confident and well informed diver, filled with information about the marine life and dives spots all over the region. Ilstra was along with us as well for our two days of diving (USAT Liberty + Manta Point) and was also a great dive guide and underwater photographer. Dive shop staff was helpful, super friendly, responsive and punctual. Would highly recommend.
