Stop At: Manta Bay, Unnamed Road, 7F62+H8Q, Sakti, Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency, Bali 80771, Indonesia

Manta Point Snorkeling is so named as it’s one of the main dive sites in Bali where you can spot manta rays. These graceful rays are visible on almost every dives, along with spotted stingrays and nurse sharks. You can dive here all year round, however, the best time to go is usually between August and October, when visibility can be an excellent 20 metres deep. Most trips depart from the dive resorts on Nusa Lembongan, or from the coasts of Sanur and Padang Bai on the Bali mainland. The waters around Manta Point can get fairly cold, due to the open currents from the Indian Ocean. However, visibilty is often excellent here, allowing you to better explore and photograph the prolific marine life under the surface. Other sights to see here include occasional sea turtles, reef sharks, and the oceanic sunfish ormola-mola. At around 10 metres within the protected bay, mantas freely roam and feed in the plankton-rich waters while enjoying the symbiotic company of cleaner wrasses who rid their bodies of parasites.

The island itself is famous for its beautiful cliffs and pristine coastlines. Both Angel's Billabong and Broken Beach are very popular sites here. However, you’ll most likely have this amazing natural infinity pool all to yourself on your visit. It’s a good idea to explore Broken Beach first nearby. Take in the splendour of its natural limestone arches over the blue waters. Then, head off to take a dip and perhaps a swim in the natural pools of Angel’s Billabong.

Stop At: Pasih Uug Beach, Bunga Mekar, 80771 Indonesia

Broken Beach spot is marked by a hilly arch-like rock formation, which is the distinguishable landmark of the area. Set over the crashing waves of the open Indian Ocean, Broken Beach is a great spot for travel photographers and panoramic view seekers. The adjacent area is also home to grey long-tailed macaques. If you’re lucky, you may spot silhouettes of giant mantas near the surface of the deep blue water.

Stop At: Paluang Cliff, Bunga Mekar, Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency, Bali 80771, Indonesia

In Kelingking Beach you can enjoy the sweeping views from a purpose-built platform, which is bordered by bamboo fences. If you dare the challenging trek down to the beach, make sure it’s during low tide. Some sections of the path can be steep, requiring a bit of rock climbing, especially on the way back up. Locals have put rocks and bamboos to aid visitors over the years. Once you’ve reached the sand, you’ll have it all to yourself most of the time. Depending on tide conditions, the waters are swimmable. However, note that the undercurrents can be strong, and being the remote site that it is, there are no lifeguards around. Besides your camera and a good pair of shoes, be sure to bring drinking water with you on the descent, to keep you hydrated. You can combine your visit to Kelingking Beach with a visit to an interesting temple nearby. Pura Paluang Temple is a couple of minutes’ ride east by motorbike, and features shrines in the shape of cars!

We had an an Amazing day with this team in Nusa Penida. Agung arrived early to our hotel and drove us to Sanur where he brought us down to our harbour and organised collecting our tickets. No delays and everything went smoothly getting to Nusa Penida. We were greeted in Nusa Penida by Robet our Nusa Penida guide who told us where we needed to go for snorkeling and said he would be there for us when we finished. We then went snorkeling to 4 different areas with the highlight of this being Manta bay as we were lucky enough to have seen a number of Mantas. Guides here were very helpful and took alot of photos of us on their Go Pro. After snorkeling we met up with Robet again who was a great driver an took us around the narrow roads of Nusa safely to get to Kelingking beach and Broken beach where he took loads of photos of us and was great at describing the areas and stories to us. When we got back Agung was there again waiting for us and we got swiftly back to our hotel. Overall, would highly recommend this tour to anyone whos thinking on a day trip to Nusa Penida, was definitely the highlight of our trip.

Really great trip with Robert! Started off with great snorkeling tour with beautiful sights. Afterwards, Robert took us to multiple beaches and took time to explain to us things about the island, beaches and its people. Really nice tour if you only have one day at nusa Penida!

We had an overall good experience on the tour in Nusa Penida. But during monsoon season, things turned for the worst on the island when strong winds and rough waves shut off our ferry to go back to Bali. Aria, our tour guide, worked with his boss and team to set us up at a hostel and dinner. The next morning, he took off everything to get on the first ferry off the island. I highly recommend this tour group and I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again for my next excursion in Bali.
