Day 1: Sembalun Village to Crater Rim Sembalun

7.30 am Drive to Sembalun’s Gunung Rinjani National Park Office to register (1100m)

8.00 am This trek starts with a gentle 2-hour climb through open meadow to Post1.
At Post 1 (1,300m) you will have a short stop for morning tea then onward to Post 2 (1500m) and Post 3.
Lunch is served at Post 3 (1800m) where you can have a rest before starting the 3-hour steep climb to Sembalun Crater Rim.

Arrive Sembalun Crater Rim (2639m). While we cook your meal and set up camp, you will enjoy an incredible sunset. On a clear night, you will be able to see the star-studded milky way. An early night is recommended in preparation for your early morning summit challenge.
Note: If you don’t feel up to the challenge, you can choose to stay at camp (and sleep in) until the others return. You will still be assured of a thrilling adventure and high fives all around.

Day 2: Crater Rim Sembalun to Summit, Lake, Crater Rim Senaru
Stop At: Mount Rinjani National Park Sembalun Lawang, Lombok 83656 Indonesia
2:00 am Wake for a hot drink and light breakfast

3.00 am Under the cover of darkness, you start the Rinjani summit ascent. The trek starts with a moderately steep section, followed by an easier but longer stretch. The final approach involves a challenging steep climb on loose scree.

6.00 am You arrive at the summit of Mt Rinjani (3726m) to be rewarded with a beautiful sunrise, panoramic view of the islands of Lombok, Bali, and Sumbawa and of Lake Segara Anak.
From here we return to camp to enjoy our well-earnt main breakfast at about 8.00 am

Your mid-morning hike descends down to your lunch spot at the lake. This downhill section is steep and somewhat slippery and will take about 2.5 hours
At Lake Segara Anak (2,000m) you will be well-rewarded for your challenging day. Here you can swim in the lake, widely known for its natural healing powers and bath in the hot water springs to soothe away any aches and pains.
After lunch we leave the lake to trek up to the Senaru Crater Rim (2641m) for our last overnight camp.

Arrive at Senaru Crater Rim (2641m). This vantage point boasts some of the most spectacular views in the national park. While we cook your meal and set up camp, you will enjoy an incredible sunset over Mount Agung in Bali and marvel at the smoke coming from the new volcano on the lake's edge.

Day 3: Crater Rim Senaru to Senaru Village
Stop At: Senaru Village, Senaru, Lombok 83354 Indonesia
After breakfast with a beautiful sunrise we start the 5-hour descent to Senaru village through the rainforest. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the rare black monkey swinging through the trees.
You’ll enjoy a lunch stop along the way before arriving back in Senaru village where a car will take you to your next Lombok destination.
