Covering almost 800 square miles and no fewer than five English counties, the Cotswolds are the single largest designated Area of Natural Beauty in the UK. The area was once renowned for its wool production, reminders of which you can still see today. During this Experience, we will be visiting three picturesque villages hidden in the heart of the Cotswolds, with honey-coloured limestone period buildings and rich cultural heritage. Relax aboard your Luxury Small Group Vehicle with an expert guide as you enjoy the best of the English countryside.

This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Bibury, Bibury, Cotswolds, England

Bibury - “the most beautiful village in England” On arriving into Bibury you may think you have been transported back to a different age. The village was once described by the British poet, artist and novelist William Morris (1834-96) as “the most beautiful village in England”. Bibury’s attractions includes Arlington Row, a 17th century row of weavers cottages built of local stone next to the River Coln. It is one of the most photographed areas in the region and was chosen as a location for the 2007 film ‘Stardust’. Close by you will find the Bibury Trout Farm and a Saxon Church. The River Coln flows between the main village street and a watermeadow: together with Alrington Row as a backdrop, it makes one of the most picuresque scenes you will find in the Cotswolds.

Stop At: Arlington Row, Awkward Hill, Bibury GL7 5NJ England

It’s easy to see why William Morris called Bibury ‘The most beautiful village in England’ – wonderful stone buildings strung out along the banks of the River Coln.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Burford, Burford, Cotswolds, England

Burford – “Gateway to the Cotswolds”
Burford is known as the gateway to the Cotswolds. Its High Street slopes from the high Wolds, where you have beautiful views over the open countryside, down to the willow fringed River Windrush in the pretty Windrush valley.
Choose to visit Burford’s numerous small shops offering Cotswolds cheese, quality meats, freshly made cakes, antiques and books.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Bourton-on-the-Water, Bourton-on-the-Water, Cotswolds, England

Regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton-on -the-Water has a unique appeal to visitors and residents alike.
Known as the Venice of the Cotswolds, this one village offers a wealth of attractions and shops, restaurants and tea rooms, or simply the space for you to enjoy some tranquil time by the River Windrush, spanned by its five arched bridges.
Bourton-on-the-Water’s most prized feature is its tranquil river. Fed from many springs, its source is approximately ten miles from the village, and even in the 1976 drought the flow continued.
Where the river enters the village centre, over the rapids next to the Old Mill, its clear waters flow under a miscellany of arched stone bridges past the green with its banks of Cotswold stone.

My friend Val and I went on a small bus day trip from London to the Cotswolds. Our driver/tour guide was extremely entertaining with a plethora of historical facts, impersonations, jokes and kept the driving time of 1 and 45 minutes casual and fun filled. He was as enchanting and charming as the towns we visited…Buford, Bibury, Burton on the water and Arlington row. David T is surely an asset to GoTours! If you go with Go tours ask for David T and you will have a great trip!

Entire trip was wonderful. Our guide was Sheila and our driver was Alisha. Sheila provided so much information about the Cotswolds and also had a great sense of humor. As a driver, Alisha was incredible. Even got us back early. Truly a great day filled with beautiful scenery and lots of fun. Thank you Sheila!!

This review is not about the Cotswolds. They are beautiful! So many missed opportunities to make this a really great tour. Where was the info? I googled a lot back at the hotel. Omar was our tour guide, with that word used loosely. A few hacking coughs into the microphone (big group the day before and he had a sore throat so he said) and it was a long 2 hour ride to the first stop. We passed Harvey Nichols and we were told that's where Diana shopped. 2 hours later we entered the Cotswolds and a bit of info on the sheep/wool trade but it missed the mark after I read more later. There were only 6 of us on the tour. Not enough to inspire him to make an effort. He bored us as much as we bored him. Never asked our names, never tried to connect except with his phone or sandwich. No talking to the driver either. Just... nothing. I will give you some info that should have been passed on to us BEFORE the stops not AFTER as we are driving away! You know, before he sat down and said nothing more until it was time to tell us to be back on the bus on time. 1st stop- bathrooms are 50p on your credit card- unless you buy something at the gift shop or restaurant (which we did - thanks a bunch for the info after we left the stop, Omar). 2nd stop- if you go off season the toilets may not be open. 'but they might, but probably not, maybe', says Omar. That was after the first stop and before the 2nd so if you are in need you'd better plan ahead. :) 2nd stop - it was pointed out that 'that is where we used to park. Now we park here, I don't know why'. This was said so many times I thought I should maybe take a picture of the parking lot since it was the most he said about anything. Hint * read the sign. You have to pay to park there and not at the co-op where he dropped us. Ride back was as long and boring. He had promised to 'tell us more back on the bus' but never said a word. NOT. A. WORD. Back in London we were told we made great time and to tip our driver. We thought maybe he had never done this trip before. Maybe they didn't want to cancel us and just hauled in someone to make sure the trip went ahead. But, I googled Evans Evans tours + Omar and it turns out - this is the guide he is and it's not his first Cotswold tour. So, if you want to go and be told nothing, go. If you want a cheap Uber trip to the Cotswolds this is the tour for you!
