Set in leafy Regent's Park amid heritage-listed buildings and beautiful gardens, London Zoo is an oasis in the heart of the capital with over 15,000 amazing animals to discover.

Visit: London Zoo, Regents Park Outer Circle, London NW1 4RY England

The Zoo’s biggest experience, Land of the Lions, gives you the chance to get closer than ever before to the mighty Asiatic lions. You can explore walkways covering the 2,500sqm Indian-themed exhibit.

Come face-to-face with one of nature’s most awesome predators in Tiger Territory, learn about the natural behaviours of Sumatran tigers and discover the conservation issues these creatures face in the wild.

Tiny Giants is a celebration of all things small but mighty, and the sometimes strange but always wonderful world of invertebrates. Also home to a new coral reef tank, this indoor experience is one not to be missed.

You’ll love heading down to the beach to watch our colony of Humboldt penguins dive, swim, frolic and feed in England's largest penguin pool, complete with large underwater viewing windows. And step Into Africa to observe the elegance and grace of the giraffes before moving on to the magnificent residents of Gorilla Kingdom.

Had such a great day at London zoo during the Feb half-term. Expected it to be crazy busy with lots of crowds but apart from the gorilla enclosure, there were no queues. Lots of places to sit down and plenty to do for the kids who were aged between 7-9. Good size for an inner-city zoo, didn’t feel like we were in the middle of London.

We have visited London zoo every UK visit since 2011. It’s massive and takes quite a few hours to see everything. There’s a range of indoor and outdoor enclosures plus the brand new monkey world. The new reptile house is opening soon. We saw a tiger hunting a squirrel (thankfully it got away!). We were also terrified by a crocodile statue inside a bird enclosure that made these two Aussie’s jump in fear! But it was a bit funny. We visited on a January afternoon, but towards closing a lot of the animals were settling firm for the night.

We had a fantastic day at the zoo, saw loads of animals, must give a special thanks to Carl @ ZSL for his assistance thanks!

Really enjoyed our visit, the zoo is laid out well and we enjoyed all the theming as well as seeing the animals themselves. We had pizzas in the restaurant at lunch which were really good. It was an easy walk from camden town tube station along the canal. The only very slight negative was we felt the toilets couldve been maintained better throughout the day.

As members we take every opportunity to visit the zoo and did so again during school half term. The zoo was busy but not overcrowded as we walked straight in (no queuing). All the animal sections were easy to find and walk through including popular lion and tiger enclosures. There is also a new monkey enclosure where you can interact with them however is pretty quick so nothing May actually happen. We also decided to eat at the restaurant which was pretty busy but all menu options available and seating plentiful. As far as our experience this was our fourth in a year and felt like it was probably past its peak as no one could really get excited about anything this time round. Having visited for many years the zoo used to add events which added to the experience but recently it is the same old sections so been once seen it all wont bother again. It is still worthwhile to come along especially with children and takes up much of the day. However the lack of anything new or original means we probably wont renew the membership.
