Discover the vast estate of Blenheim Palace in the Oxfordshire village of Woodstock on a half-day tour from London, traveling by private car. The only non-royal or religious palace in the UK, Blenheim is the ancestral home of the dukes of Marlborough, and was built between 1705 and 1722.

Upon arrival, marvel at the sumptuous interior, and discover a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. Once home to Winston Churchill, the palace rooms include the imposing Great Hall and the state apartments. See stunning portraits and tapestries, as well as period furniture and porcelain displays.

Then, wander among more than 2,000 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds. See the water terraces of the Formal Gardens, and take on the challenge of the Marlborough Maze in the Pleasure Gardens. We started in London at our hotel and spent about an hour by car to Blenheim Palace. Parking was about 300 yards from the Palace. The grounds are extensive and beautiful. Marty, our guide was great about tailoring the tour to our interests. We chose lunch at a Pub, but several nice lunch spots are available at Blenheim. Very nice day trip from London

I love being able to visit locations I read about in historical fiction novels.Plus I got to learn about the life of Winston Churchill. My favorite part about this tour is the walking around the grounds with my tour guide Kevin. A wealth of knowledge and just a fun tour guide. He makes the break out of London enjoyable.

Our tour guide, Kevin, clearly has keen interest in English history and knows it well. He was easy to talk to and he shared many “insider” facts regarding Blenheim - past and current - that made the tour especially worthwhile.
