This is the Original Aldgate East Jack the Ripper tour that has been operating nightly since 1982. Our start point means that, within seconds of setting out, you are exploring the cobbled alleys and atmospheric old streets that have changed little since Jack the Ripper prowled their shadows. Our guides, Richard Jones, John Bennett, Angie Norman, Philip Hutchinson and Jeremy John are experts on the case and have between them written more than ten acclaimed books on the Jack The Ripper mystery. They are able to present you with a detailed account of the crimes that shook the world in 1888. However, they present those facts in a dramatic and entertaining fashion that is both entertaining and inspiring, and which helps bring the history of the crimes to vivid life. From the start, it is as though you are a part of the Victorian police investigation, as you sift the evidence, examine the facts, and debate the crimes and arrive at your own conclusions.

Your expert guide takes you on a 2 hour walking tour around the historic area where the Jack the Ripper murders occurred. You will hear about the police investigation, learn about the suspects, visit the murder sites and discover the story behind the greatest whodunnit of all time.

You will stand beneath the soaring spire of Christchurch, Spitalfields, a landmark that dominates its surroundings today, just as it did when Jack the Ripper prowled the streets beneath its shadow.

Stop At: Brick Lane Police Station 25 Brick Lane, London E1 6PU England

You will explore the streets around Brick Lane, all of which are lined by sturdy 18th-century houses that have changed little since 1888 when the formed the backcloth against which the Jack the Ripper saga was played out.

Spring was in the air, it was still daylight, and Whitechapel on Saturday evening was bustling in a savoury 21st century way but Angie, our guide, soon plunged us back into the dark alleys, grim lives and gruesome fate of the Ripper's victims. Though a little cynical about the Ripper business as we passed 'Jack the Chipper' and several competing Ripper tours, Angie couldn't conceal her enthusiasm for the subject in all its grime and gore. A Ripper obsessive since the age of nine, she confessed, she delivered two hours of fascinating historical detail with a storyteller's aplomb, while leading us along the Ripper's trail and conjuring up the scenes as they were then, in 1888. As the skies darkened and the wind whipped up, and Angie held up graphic photos of the slain women, we were transported from today's East End of Brick Lane and Spitalfields and Mitre Square, curry houses, oyster bars, smart homes and City offices, to the gaslit reign of terror and the final hours of the five - or was it six? - who encountered evil as they walked those streets. Angie is a fantastic, and funny, tour de force and her Ripper tales are not to be missed!

Jeremy was wonderful in his engagement and even made it rain (which add to the ambiance) !!! Only a dead body or two would have made it better! I recommend him and this tour to folks we had coming to London. Excellent job!!!

A very interesting and informative insight into the horrors of Whitechapel District of London in 1888. Our guide was Angie, she was brilliant, presented the tour very well and was knowledgeable and provided all the facts required to make it enjoyable even with a little humour chucked in. The atmosphere was just right as it was getting dark and also rained which added to the experience. Highly recommend this tour (and I was brought up in East London) Thanks, Angie..

Very interesting and informative tour, Philip was excellent at engaging us!!!! He made us laugh a lot. I would have loved to have stopped and had a drink in The Ten Bells pub as part of the tour. Would recommend to my friends.
