The tour starts near the Plaza San Miguel, just in front of the most popular market in Madrid

Then it goes on exploring the most important places in the City Center, like Plaza de la Villa, one of the oldest square with its incredible buildings. The oldest one, La torre de los Lujanes, it was the residence of the famous music composer Federico Chueca.

Afterwards, The Plaza de Armeria is our next destination. The Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral!

On the way to the Egyptian Templo de Debod we get the Orient Square and the Sabatini Garden, the last one it is pretty similar to the Versailles Garden in Paris.

The tour was good, but I gave it 3 star because we started an hour late, and they didn’t have at the moment bikes for women, I had hard time managing the bike, fell off the bike lol, afterwards I was good.

The bikes were ok. The locations stopped were ok. The information provided was ok. It was an ok experience but nothing memorable.

We met some lovely people. The bikes were great and our guide was very nice. We didn’t really cover enough territory and had been to most places the tour went. The organisation allowed late comers, which meant the group had to return and start again.

2 main points here: 1)this company is extremely disorganized and rude and 2)Madrid is not a bike friendly city On the website for this bike tour we requested a baby seat because we were bringing our baby along. They were extremely suprised to see we brought a baby and denied that we had requested a seat for her. We had to show them our email confirmation and prove that we had added it. They seemed very irritated and begrudgingly got the seat for us. We also requested baskets on our bikes and we had no baskets, we didn’t even bother to ask about it because they had already been rude. Like another review said, the bikes are really tall. Everyone in our group that was under 5’6 could not reach the pedals. We asked for different bikes and again the people were super rude about it. They ended up giving us the shorter bikes but made comments about how we should have told them earlier. There was no option on the website to indicate height so I don’t know what they meant by that. I assumed that by picking an adult bike I’d be able to reach the pedals. Madrid is, as our tour guide literally admitted, “not a bike friendly city.” I was scared for my life on this tour. Our guide took us to the most busy places in Madrid and had us swerving all over the place. There were no bike lanes in many of the streets and traffic circles she took us in. My sister almost got hit by a bus and the tour guide yelled at her for “being in the bus lane” when the guide had literally passed through the bus lane herself, my sister was just following her. There were motorcycles weaving around us, cars everywhere, I literally felt like I was in the middle of traffic at all times and I was going to be hit. In Retiro Park, our guide literally had us weaving around the trash cans and lampposts because the main area was so busy. Again this was super dangerous especially with one of us having a baby seat. Later on our visit to Madrid, we explored and saw many smaller streets that our tour guide could have easily taken us on. Instead the path was extremely dangerous and unsafe. We were there a few days after new years (before three kings day) so the city was probably even busier than usual. The company and guide should take that into consideration and provide an alternate path for when the crowding gets really bad. Or during the holidays they should only do Segway tours. This company did not treat us well and the bike tour was completely and totally unsafe. We’ve done other bike tours in Montreal and New York and this was completely out of hand in terms of customer service and safety. Overall our tour guide was nice and she was trying her best but it was clear she was irritated by us.

We loved our tour guide Gloria. She was very well informed told terrific stories, and shared interesting history of Madrid. We are giving 4 stars rather than 5 only because we felt the bikes could have been better maintained and also Madrid itself was not an easy city to bike around (especially on a Sunday when so many people were out and about!). If it was strictly a rating on our tour guide it would have been a 5+. She made sure our group stayed together and stopped at various locations to share facts and stories. She even offered to take photos at various stops and checked in to make sure everyone was comfortable and doing ok throughout the ride! Overall great day.
