Overview

In this half-day tour, explore the city of Marseille: its old port and the historical center. Observe the Palais Longchamp (Water Castle), which was inaugurated in 1869 to bring water from the Durance river to Marseille. Climb up to the iconic basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde (usually called la Bonne Mère) that was built in Roman-Byzantine style in 1864 to replace the old chapel with the same name. There observe the fabulous view over Marseille. Finally, go to the charming point a view on Chateau D’if , before returning back to your port of cruise terminal of Marseille.

Upon debarkation, please exit the cruise terminal. You will follow the green line on the ground directing you towards the exit. It is approximately a 5 to 10minute walk from the cruise ship. By a Small grey Building on your left by a small parking spot toward the exit Your tour representative will be by the Seaman’s Club holding a sign with "Domitia Tours" written on it. We ask all guests to please plan to be at the designated departure location at least 15 minutes before the departure time listed above.

Very nice and friendly guide. We saw all of the best sites. Some very beautiful old churches, and some shopping. Loved it.

Djilani did a fabulous job of showing us around the highlights of Marseille and explaining every beautiful thing we saw. He took us all the way to the entrance of Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, so we didn’t have to walk up many steps or the steep hillside. The view from up there was incredible!! 360 degree views of Marseille and the sea. We even got to try traditional navettes from the oldest bakery in Marseille. One of our favorite excursions during our Costa Smeralda cruise. Thank you Djilani!

Nothing. Pick up was poor. Avery long walk to the transport with misleading Instructions. Tour guides English was very difficult to understand, Very expensive for a bus tour.

No memorable parts to share. Was told to meet at 8:45am. Waited around until 9:30 for 5 people. Was told we would still get our 4 hour tour. Will Taco cut time spent at each stop to try to make up the time. The last stop was lunch and shopping time. We were given 15 minutes total because the bus driver had to be back by 1pm! So how could we get the full tour experience. Also told the bus would drop us off close to the ship since it was quite a long walk to the bus. That did not happen either. Would not trust Domitia Tours. They get your money and that’s all they are interested in.
