Join Chef/Patronne Sandy, of "Pallagino" Feast of Mauritius, author, writer, recipes creator, culinary presenter, certified cooking instructor, in her kitchen at home  to discover local gastronomy in an ultimate, endless culinary adventure.

You will learn how to cook a complete meal, of 6 dishes just like we cook at home in Mauritius.

You can expect your cooking class to take about an hour and a half before you sit down and enjoy the meal you have cooked over an engaging conversation with Chef Sandy.
Feel free to ask her about the fresh vegetables, ingredients, herbs and spices that go into making each dish, and tips for substitutes should you not find these herbs and spices back home.

We were welcomed into Sandy's home and were taken through what we were to prepare. We made a lovely rougaille de saucisses, a fried pumpkin dish with curry leaves, aubergine pakoras, a christophene and potato salad and rice. Rum flambeed bananas to finish. All dishes really tasty! Sandy is friendly and a great teacher. A lovely experiece, but it is quite pricy.

We had a wonderful cooking class with Sandy in her lovely kitchen cooking delicious Mauritius cuisine. The food was fantastic and it was lovely chatting to her and her husband. Very centrally located.

Chef Sandy guides you to paint with the flavors of the Indian-derived Mauritian cuisine palette as she walks you through uncomplicated yet amazingly flavorful combinations of traditional Mauritian cooking. I joined her and her husband in their home for several hours of hands-on food preparation and discussion before sitting down to the meal we had prepared. A great way to learn about the essentials of the Mauritian kitchen.

We had a great cooking class with Chef Sandy. She was so welcoming, and had everything prepared in her kitchen when we arrived. She explained all of the ingredients, before guiding us through how to cook each dish. We already cook a lot so not all of the techniques were new to us, but we still picked up lots of new tips that we will definitely use at home! It was also fantastic to have an introduction to Mauritian home cooking and learn more about the dishes and flavours. We enjoyed a glass of wine while cooking, and then ate the outcomes of our cooking at a lovely dinner table which Sandy had set for us. We can’t recommend this cooking class enough!

We had a great day/ extraordinary cooking experience with Chef Sandy. In the morning her husband picked us up from our hotel, than drove us up to North to Grand Baie to their home. We really enjoyed to learn how to make delicious Mauritian fish masala, pumpkin-Fenugreek masala, spicey rice, chayote salad, bananas flambe, and aubergine appetizer. We loved the way how she cookes, learned lots of tricks from her during the day. Sandy’s cooking book as a souvenir, was a lovely surprise the end of the course. If you love to cook, and interested in local cuisine, is a must do while on holiday in Mauritius!
