The Pertzova House (Fairy-Tale House) is the twentieth century building located on Prechistenskaya embankment. It is the fascinating house with peaked towers, balconies and painted walls, as it is descended from the pages of a children's books. The magical building, decorated with mythological animals, carved façades and traditional ornaments, was built by a fan of Russian art engineer Pertsov at the beginning of XX century.

The inhabitants of this house, resembling a hut on chicken legs, the Wise Owl, the Rabbit and the Cat are able to "come to life" under the action of special mechanisms and tell entertaining stories to young guests.

The unusual house in the form of Faberge egg was built in 2002 and immediately turned into one of the brightest sights of the capital. The house has four floors and residential apartments, a hall, a sauna and an exit to the underground garage. The attic can be reached by a spiral staircase or a special elevator. Its total area is almost 350 meters. An interesting fact is that this building costs an astonishing 359 316 000 rubles.

The mansion of the merchant Igumnov is famous for its carved columns, turrets and tent domes in the style of Russian art Nouveau as well as an abundance of legends and tales. It is known that in 1901 Igumnov arranged a spectacular secular ball inside the tower, having floors lined with gold chervonets. Moreover, it is said the fairy-tale castle is haunted by the ghost of its owner’s former mistress.

The Mansion of the merchant Igumnov
The Mansion is famous for not only carved columns, turrets and tent domes in the style of Russian art Nouveau, but also an abundance of legends and tales. It is
known that in 1901 Igumnov arranged in the tower shocking secular ball, having lined floors with gold chervonets. Moreover, it is said that in one of the walls of the fairy-tale castle immured former mistress of the owner and her Ghost still haunts the halls of the mansion.

The Museum of Russian fairy tales is a collection of wonderful and instructive stories that keep the folk wisdom of many centuries. On interactive tours, children dress in Russian traditional costumes, immerse themselves in the atmosphere of magic and, learn to solve difficult moral problems with fairy-tale characters.
This museum has more than 400 books and costumes. About 650 thousand of children have already visited the House of fairy tales.
