Meet your guide at Munich Central Station to begin your 2-hour tour of Old Town, Munich’s charming historical center that’s home to some the city’s most famous churches, monuments, beer halls and museums.
From Marienplatz, Munich’s central square since the 1100s, learn about the city’s long and eventful history as you stroll the medieval alleyways that wind through Old Town. Admire the architecture of the Old Town Hall, with its glockenspiel that re-enacts stories from the 16th century.
Take photos of Frauenkirche, Munich’s iconic red-roofed cathedral that was bombed during World War II, and see St Peter’s Church, the oldest church in Old Town.
Pass through the Viktualienmarkt food market and peer in the windows of Hofbräuhaus, Munich’s must-visit beer hall. Stop in front of the Munich Residenz, the former royal palace of Bavarian monarchs. Then pass through the large square of Odeonsplatz and see the Alter Hof, the former imperial residence of Louis IV, King of Germany and Holy Roman Emperor in the 1300s.

This tour is a wonderful way to start in exploring Munich. And Charlie was a fantastic guide...extremely knowledgeable with fantastic stories and delivery, He also did an excellent job dealing with a child’s constant questions without losing the rest of us. The tour itself takes you wandering through the old town and provides a very good job of orienting you. I highly recommend it!

!We spent 1/2 a day yesterday with Matt touring the old Town of Munich and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Matt , who has a great sense of humour, was extremely informative while sharing his obvious love for the city with us. We had a wonderful experience with Matt and this great tour. Truly a well spent 1/2 day!

Great tour with Patty our guide in June 2019. She was a very enthusiastic guide and shared her love of her adopted city with us. We learned a great deal about the history and culture of Munich. Lots of fun and she graciously stayed after the tour to answer questions and provide recommendations for additional things to do and places to ear.
