Curt’s tours of Dachau are unique. He will lead you through every building, explain the history of the camp and you will be transported back into the history of the time period. He has spent over a decade building intimate relationships with Dachau survivors, a number of whom have taken his tours. As he leads you through original structures including the bunker, crematorium and gas chamber, it is through their eyes, their remarkable stories that horrors of Dachau can be understood. He also helps guests understand the social and economic conditions in Germany that lead a population to support such a system of oppression. Curt Milburn has completed the course work offered by the Dachau Memorial Site and is a fully licensed and certified Dachau Guide. He is also a native of the US and has been touring in Munich for over twelve years. Curt is fully vaccinated.

I used Curt for two different tours seven years ago and he did an exemplary job. I called on him once again in April 2024 for the Munich City and Dachau tours. Just completed 2 tours with Curt Milburn from Big Hat Tours. Dachau in depth and 3rd Reich. Contacted Curt through the reviews on Tripadvisor and was not disappointed. The Big Hat Dachau tour was a highlight of our time in Munich. Curt was easy to connect with pre-tour, even when I had a last minute change. His knowledge of this era of history was evident, and we really appreciated how he was able to adjust the tour to our questions and interests. We never felt rushed. Others had mentioned his iPad with old photos and we also found this to be very interesting. Everyone in our small group learned something new - even the person that had visited Dachau 3 times before. Thanks Curt!

Curt gives a great tour- he spent ample time showing us around and explaining in depth the key aspects of the camp. He had many personal stories which added to the experience, it’s evident that he is very passionate about his tours. I would certainly tour with him again and highly recommend this tour!
